No one reads these threads on Football Sundays so I'll keep this very brief.
1. Demarre Carroll is back for the Raps. He transforms them defensively and you saw it in living color against the Pelicans.
2. Karl is playing Rondo 44 minutes a night. Why? No one else can play. Collison is out and Curry just came back (and Karl doesn't trust him anyway). Can't average those kind of minutes game in game out and when rondo runs out of gas, watch out. He'll cause the team to self-destruct.
3. Kings internal problems are not solved. The Karl/Cousins/team mutiny issue is still there. Local media has acknowledged this despite everyone playing nice on the surface. When the losses come, and they will, it will blow up again. You can see Karl's angst and frustration during timeouts. Very poor communication on this team, if any. Just one bad loss against a quality team can send the whole team to the shi**er. Here comes quality from Toronto.
4. From 1-4 Raps are clealry better and at the 5, Cousins won't eat up Jonas like he did the Nets. 19 straight points vs the Nets when Brook went to the bench? Come on...that's not happening here and that's not even winning basketball (and the Nets almost stole that one on the last shot anyway as well).
5. Raps can be electric when they are on a role as evidenced by some spectacular plays vs the Pelicans, a nice boost of confidence, and Lowry will run circles around a should-be tired Rondo.
6. Don't overvalue the past two kings wins. Their win over the Pistons came after a team meeting (always a boost to come out as one unit, fully motivated) and the 1 win nets were up 15 on them in their building after a huge 3rd quarter comeback, only falling by 2 after missing a game winner. Raps are a whole different animal on both sides of the ball.
The line is generous given Vegas believing the Kings will get on some kind of winning streak (they won't, this team is stil a mess and highly disorganized).
