Awe , that’s really sad. He was a good soul . 

From Cali to Portland just like me. Met him multiple times. Total dead head and genuinely nice guy. I hate that jam band shit but I have an appreciation for the place that circle of people occupy in Bay Area lore.

Great player, Good guy. Ok Broadcaster. Sad to hear he's gone so soon, Godspeed Bill. 

RIP...loved the guy & his enthusiasm for people, life & b'ball. Definitely 1 of the 2 greatest centers ever in college ball & a great pro as well. Have to wonder how truly great he would have been without the injuries that started in HS & later foot probs.

A very cool dude, Rest In Peace!

 I'll miss that goofy old hippy. Got pictures of myself and my nephew with him at a Colorado Buffalo's game. I've seen him many times around Portland at events and Blazer games. He is as revered there as Kareem , Magic  and Kobe in LA. Would have truly been one of the greatest if not for the chronic debilitating injuries.

 Total nut as an announcer.  "I have swam naked in every tributary of the Mighty Columbia  River"; rambling on about this during game action, driving the other announcer crazy and clearly high. It was pretty funny though.

RIP--he was a unique character not fitting the usual jock stereotype---I'll miss his goofy commentary most recently Pac-10 hoops...

Never seen him play but loved his commentary fuc'n hilarious RIP Legend

Odd  today, apparently USC played Arizona the Pac 12 baseball tournament. Apparently it would be the last 12 game ever played very strange

Saw him a few times at the garden… walked past him a few times and we rode the escalator together.. tallest human being I ever stood next to.  but a great guy

So sad to hear may he rest in  definitely a original quirky character indeed . . .  he will be missed
