I'll make you happy.. Give me Mike for the last 4 minutes of a game... give me Lebron for the rest of the game!
This thread has filled me with a lot of emotions and thoughts.
1) Who cares who the better athlete is? Who is the better player? I will agree with you 100% that LeBron is a better athlete but playmaking and basketball skills are still not up to MJ
2) Do not forget, that the last four minutes of the game are the most important, if you want MJ then, then that is the GUY!
3) LeBron as great as he is, has a legacy of failure until this last year. He was the Queen and was known to falter when the lights were the brightest, year after year after year. Only after he made his own team did he win the crown.
4) All that said, what LeBron has done in the last two years is MJ-like. To me, most amazing is his shooting % this year of 56%, R U friggin kidding me? That is insane for a guy who jacks that many threes to hit at that rate. If he keeps that up, you will be mentioning him as the greatest ever. MJ could never get better than 53% in his career. LeB has improved his % every year. Simply scary.
5) Robert Horry is totally underappreciated and belongs in the H of F and yes, I am serious about this.
6) Do not ever forget , at the end of the day, the game is a competition and is about winning. Some guys have it and some guys do not. LeBron is still a work in progress in winning, if he were never to win another title, despite huge numbers, what is it worth? MJ and Kobe have both made their legacy based on wins and stats.
I think though, LeBron is going to do it again this year and maybe for a couple more. .......then we can talk again.
7) Robert Horry knew what it took to win and hit all the big shots. Big Shot Bob, dude was a friggin stud. Guaranteed. Good D, moved the ball to the right man, rebounded, those are the traits of a winner and it showed.
