Well that cafe is still closed for me, so Im going to get my coffee in here today. Took some tough ones last night with the Sonics 41 pt 1st quarter blowing that easy under and the Kings blowing a huge lead in a game that StraightJacked had absolutly knocked dead. The Lakers did win that game, the Kings lost that one. Back to the grind today. Here are my early thoughts.

I dont expect the Boobcats to try and run with the Warriors tonight after they saw how that worked out for the Hawks. The Hawks played the perfect half of basketball in the first last night and came out of it with nothing to show for it but tired legs and a 2 point lead. The Boobcats played the Warriors once already this season, and ran with them to a 20+ point loss. I would imagine that with Biedrins out that the Warriors will get a heavy dose of Okafor down low all night. If they tried to run with them earlier in the year and paid for it, why would they try and do it again? A total like 223 has Over written all over it, but it the public gets on that over at a good enough rate then I will probably take a shot at the under. The Warriors got great performances out of most their players last night, but dont let that fool you. This team has struggled to hit shots on the road all year long and tonight be just another example.
Give me the points with the Detriot Pistons tonight. People will look at their performance last night and squak, but the fact is that this team simply doesnt care about a home game against a team like Seattle. They knew they could sleep-walk through that game and still come out with a victory. Exactly what they did. The Pistons got a terriable shootnig performance out of Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace was thinking more about Kevin Garnett then what he was actually doing on the court. I expect a very motivated performance out of the Pistons tonight and their better bench will be the reason they keep this thing close. Ill be happy to play the Stons tonight. Tonight, they are focused while last night Stons backers jump ship to the Celtics. BTW, Pistons are 9-4-1 on B2Bs.
I think the New York Knicks win this game tonight outright, but I will probably end up taking them with the points against King James and the other mopes he will have on the court with him tonight. With no Z, Pavlovic, Gibson, or West the Cavaliers will have a very short bench tonight. The Knicks are not a pretty pick, and Ill give them that but their athletes outside and rebounding will be something that plays a major role in helping them come out with the W tonight. Toss in that everybody and their mother is on the Cavaliers and Ill end up with the Knicks I think. This is a great spot to fade the Cavs, but it the Knicks and I cant stop thinking about their blown cover against the Hornets only a few days ago.
New Jersey -3 is a trap line. They want you on New Jersey sooooooooo bad, but I cant find it anywhere in my soul to back the Memphis Griz in any sort of spot unless they are playing a high school team. As most the idiots will be on NJ tonight, I cant imagine myself falling for the trap on them. Ive seen how good the Nets are playing with Harris on the team and a newly motivated Vince Carter but this line smells of fish and I dont have my hook today.
I cashed on the Suns last night, but I think Ill have to end up on the Nuggets tonight. Just like the Hornets game a week ago, this Nuggets team will be able to exploit every single weakness that the Suns have. The Suns are coming off an emotional game that ended late up in Portland last night, and now have to take a trip up in the altitude to before coming home for their biggest homestand of the year. There are certain problems with the Suns, and they are as follows....
1) Inconsistant outside shooting
2) Lack of rebounding
3) No interior defense
The Suns are now going to have to go up to Denver and deal with a Nuggets team that came off a very disappointing home loss to the Rockets a couple days ago. Two days of practice at home with the Suns and Spurs on deck and the Neuggets should be primed for this game. Players like JR Smith become huge in a open court game like the Suns will be providing them and Ill take Melo, AI, Smith, and Klieza (He will play) shooting from the perimeter with beef like Martin and Camby down low. The Suns constantly struggle when going up to Utah or Denver and that should happen again tonight.
Thats what Ive got at first glance, but there are some other games that I still want to see where the money falls out before I make any plays.
Best of luck to everyone and have a great day.

Nice writeups. I really like that GS under myself, but don't have the guts to pull the trigger there. My first thought was NJ, but haven't gotten to look at that one yet, may just leave it alone now.

Cafe still closed at work? WTF?
Anyways, solid looks as always. Agree with Knicks and Nugs. Not sure I want to fight with Lebron again.
Wiz on the radar at all? Seems like a hell of a short line to me and it just dropped from 2 to 1?

What can ya do. Had it pegged, crumbled at the end. We move on. Good Luck.

That Kings game was some bullshit, and it burned pretty bad. The onyl thing that burned worse was the SportsFanatic gloating afterwards about championship material. I watched that whole game and they look nothing like champions.
I was thinking about those Wiz SJ, but I cant seem to find myself on the right side of one of their games to save my life. Obviously, without Butler I worry about them hitting enough shots, but being at home should definitly help them.
I feel you on the chance to fade the Magic on the road especially after getting out-rebounding by the Raptors without Bosh yesterday. The Magic shot over 50% but struggled from beyond the arc. That sort of stuff wont work tonight in Washington.
I think you are right on about the Wiz, but its so hard trying to make a case for a team that is missing its two best players. I know one thing, and thats that I wont be on the Magic tonight.
What else are you looking at?

Like your thoughts on PHX/DEN. I'm feeling Denver myself. I'd like to take them at 4.5, so I'm waiting for a half point drop to then buy the other half...we'll see what happens, Good luck man!

Nice writeups RFM!!! Glad to see you back in action!
Lke the GS tonight in another rout. You hit the nail on the head with the Suns. A VERY inconsistent team now. They have changed their play entirely and are STILL trying to figure out how to use Shaq to their advantage. I think they have answered thier own quesion....they can't play with him in a fast paced game.
He has single handedly changed the Suns "Run and Gun" mentality to a "run to half court" and wait for Shaq to get into position to run their offense. Not a good way to go for the Suns. I think Shaq does help them on defense a little more. Which is why I like the UNDER here.
Combine the slower play of the Suns, the altitude, and a littel better defense from the Suns with Shaq and it looks like an under to me.
Keep up the good work!

Not much else. Lot of high spreads I'm not interested in. But I really like the Denver pick. I made end up fading the Suns tonight as well. The pub is already on the 5 points. Late game last night they had to struggle to hold on to after a huge lead. Now to Denver? I think AI has a huge game..

Uniden, I was thinking the same thing but im jsut scared that we see 120+ out of the Nuggets tonight if they are hitting their shots. Thats the thing that scares me so much because I could see the Suns covering in an UNDER game but losing in an OVER game. I think it we could be told who wins the ATS, then we would win the total easily. Goofy sort of game. Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.

I totally agree SJ. Nash has definitly lost a step on defense and there is something wrong with Raja Bell. The Suns just dont look the same to me, and its starting to really concern me about their playoff chances. I know you hate those big spreads, hopefully some plays fall in our lap with line movement later.
Thanks Jordan!

Oh SJ, at what point did Grant Hill decide that he didnt want to take long jump-shots anymore? The guy REFUSES to shoot from down in the corner. Id almost rather see Giricek and his better defense and jump-shot.
Also, one last thing on the Suns that Uniden was talking about. The loss of Marion slowed them down for TWO reasons. the first is the obvious and that is Shaq, but the fact that Diaw is now getting mroe minutes slows them down a ton too. If I see that idiot pass up on more lay-up to dribble under the basket and kick it out to a covered shooter, I might just shoot him.

That is exactly right RFM!!! The enitre team dynamics have changed. How many frickin shots did Barbosa miss at POINT BLANK RANGE in the closing minutes of the game. Hell, if he would have hit half of them it would have been a much less stressful game to watch in the closing minutes!!!
It just seems like they are unsure of who should shoot the ball. It looks like they are actually thinking out there rather than playing care free ball. Really strange.
I hear what you are saying about Denver putting up 120 tonight. BUt It hink the Suns defense with Shaq slows that down a little. I am also banking on the B2B situation combined witht the loss of sleeep and the altitude to help with the UNDER.

Yeah, totally agree. Grant is money all day with those mid range jumpers but anything beyond the arc he has zero lift. Raja's 3pt % is down, his FG % is down, his defense is worse. Idk, maybe it got to his head a little bit he heard how great he defended Kobe and shit. He did for like two games and hasn't done shit since.

Barbosa has this little problem. He NEVER passes, EVER!!!!
If he stopped trying to score 30 a night, his 15 while getting his teammates involved would be much more useful to the team.
And I wouldn't bet a fucking UNDER in a Denver/Phoenix game if you held me off a cliff and threatened to throw me off. Why would you put yourself in that position? They could score 260 no problem..

I feel you man, and Im not going to try and tell you the UNDER isnt the play tonight. Ive just seen too many teams filled with jump-shooters exploit the Suns inability to cover a pick and roll and get out on shooters in the corners or on a wing.
You seem like a Suns fan, or if not, at least someone who has watched that team ball from time to time. Respect.
Youre points about Barbosa missing too many easy shots are great points to bring up and something that has hurt the Suns all season long. Hell, I might be on that UNDER with you tonight.
However, tempos come and go and as seen in the Sonics game last night any team has the ability to get hot and jack up a nice O/U trend.
The thing Im banking on here is that the Suns have two major issues.
Stopping interior rebounders on second chance points and closing off penetration in order to stop open shots from the perimeter. The Nuggets were built to do exactly that, and a well rested Iverson is the exact sort of PG that gives them nightmares. Allen Iverson was Chris Paul when Chris Paul was still sucking on his momma chest, and I see now way possible the Suns are able to stop him from doing whatever the hell he wants tonight.
Good talk, I gotta go grab some lunch. Back in a bit. Somebody find me a winner!!

Great points RFM. Yeah, I have been on the Suns in one way or another for a long time. However, with thisn ew line up, it is impossible to figure out. IF they were a normal Suns Unit, the OVER would be even higher.
I do agree with you on the ability of the Nuggets!!! Iverson should run heard on the Suns tonight. Tough call right now.
I am out for lunch as well.

Agree with your analysis on the Pistons. You know that I am opposite of your GS thoughts and I perfectly understand what you are saying, however I feel that the Cats will have no choice but to try and keep up with the Warriors. As I said in my analysis, you canb not underestimate the power of the fight for that 8th spot. I think we both agree that Denver will pick up the W tonight and that is even more reason to play the Warriors, because if you know it, and I know it, so do they! BOL with your plays and I enjoyed reading your thoughts. Great thread! ||clover.gif' border=0>||Peace_5.gif' border=0>
