Marcus banks is a sick point guard -- and toronto needs a solid one right now that can make good decisions cuz roko is too young and solomon is an idiot. I think its a good trade for the Craps overall -- no more fighting for touches between Bosh and JO

finally Colangelo does something right this year. This trade is basically a cap move for the Raps, Marion's 17 mil up this season while JO still has another 20 mil year.
Plus Raps need a backup PG more than anything right now, i'll take Banks over useless Moon anyday. Good trade for the heat as well, got a decent big man and a highflyer SF who plays similarly to Marion but gets paid about 1/10th the amount.

Miami wins on this trade for this season. Raptors win in the long term. Get rid of a contract that they were not going to be able to keep, plus pad their lottery status for the draft.

finally, been waiting for this day since the day they got useless O`Neal, so past his prime. Marion should fit in the Raps system nicely, he`ll speed their offence up.

heat win long term because they have cap space for 010 and players actually want to go there :)
but i dont mind it for raps, i hated moon so hopefully joey continues to get more minutes
and if marion sucks well we just won't resign him and we'll have some dough to maybe find a decent wing player that we need and maybe a few other pieces like bringing back delfino or resigning joey

For The Raps.... The get space for 2009 instead of 2010....This is important because Most teams are getting ready for 2010, buuuuuuuuuuut.....2009 will have alot of good players as well. The Raps will not re-sign Marion for that type of money.... but players available include, Ben Gordon, Boozer, Iverson, Rasheed Wallace, Jamal Crawford, ROn Artest, Lamar Odom, Grant Hill, Turkoglu.... Point is....they could probably pick up a combination of 2 of these guys or go with one while keeping money left over for the following year. The Raps are on the verge of losing Bosh, so they need to show him that they are making steps to achieve a winning atmosphere...
I dont think the team will be much better off now or anything, Matrix has fallen off....but maybe he just needs a PG like Calderon who will push the roc here and there.....I would have rather the raps keep Jermaine and trade Bargs for Josh Howard...that woulda been better...
Its good for Miami cuz instead of having Marions contract expire this summer and having all this money lying around and not wanting to spend it, they get Oneal who is serviceable and his contract expires in 2010 perfectly so that they can get whoever it is they will get in 2010 (Bosh, Stoud, Yao, Dirk)

Great Deal for both teams.....

Wow! The Heat play so well without Marion. Beasley is Marions replacement already and now they have another high flying swingman with a 3ball in Moon. The Raptors have a great GM but he is pulling off bonehead moves. So what they were together in PHX. What can he do to help the Raptors win. Colangelo just wants to make the playoffs. I really hope this deal is to set up another trade because other than the fact the contracts and money worked out perfectly it makes very little sense for the Craptors. 5 games back of an injury depleted Bucks team will do that. But the 8th seed might as well foreit this year.

- Marion's talents are not to it's full potential in Miami as he is a run & gun sort of player & fits into that sort of set offense, since Heat like to grind out games half crt in gritty sort of manner he just doesn't fit into that system. Raptors in the other hand like to run & will suit Marion's abilities better.
- O'Niel is more or less another Shaqffor Miami, Heat have almost gone backwards here but it's not a bad thing, they get a player who can do the job in both ends of the floor and can be a bigger threat in the paint than Marion could ever be for Heat. He can grab rebounds and fit into the heats offensive and defensive system so much better than Marion.
- Banks and Moon are a wash - Banks IMO is useless, for Heat anyway, he contributed zilch for Miami since he was traded from Suns. Moon in IMO is a small step up from Banks as Heat also has 3 PG's already.
Both teams win in all aspects with this trade win short & long term. Gives Miami that slight better chance to go at least 2nd round in the playoffs. with Wade anything is possible for this team and i wouldn't be surpised if they become 3rd in the East this season.

And oh yeah, you know damn well Riles has something up his sleeve for 2010. Wade may have another powerful center by his side along with Beasley, Haslem, Cook & Chalmers.
