The Lakers went a perfect 5-0 ATS and 4-1 SU last year in the regular season as road underdogs of three points or more (which is the situation they are facing tonight).  Here are the games in question, all of which resulted in L.A. covers. 

 

Jan. 14/09’ vs. Spurs L 111-112   (+3)

Feb. 5/09’ vs. Celtics W 110-109 (+7)

Feb. 8/09’ vs. Cavs W 101-91 (+5)

Mar. 11/09’ vs. Rockets W 102-96 (+3.5)

Mar. 12/09’ vs. Spurs W 102-95 (+3)

 

 

History shows us that when you give the Lakeshow points on the road, they usually will come through.  So when squares say stuff like, “I’ll take Kobe with points any day”, there actually is credence to what they’re saying.  Now it is important to note that Denver did defeat the Lakers at home last year on Febuary 27th by a score of 90-79, however the Nuggets were home underdogs by two points, so that did not meet the aforementioned criteria. 

 

Again just something to consider tonight for all you degenerates.  I actually like a first half play on the Nuggets more than the full game.  You know emotions will be running extremely high at the Pepsi Center tonight as the Nuggets play with playoff revenge in front of their crazed fans.  I think Denver will come out really fast and jump on the Lakers to take a lead of around ten points into halftime.  But when the Lakers make a possible run in the second half, you just never know what can happen.

When these two teams faced off in last year's playoffs, the Lakers were road underdogs in Game 3,4 &6.  They came away with the money on two of three occasions.

Game 3:  103-97 W (+3.5)  Lakers win and cover
Game 4:  101-120 L (+4.5)  Lakers lose and cover
Game 6:  119-92 W (+5.5)  Lakers win and cover

So including that playoffs series with the Nuggets, the Lakers went 7-1 ATS and 6-2 SU as road underdogs of three points or more.

Lakers is my Top Play for tonight and I don't care if it's a "Public" play. I saw few people here last night who liked Phoenix, but I stuck to my guns and hammered the Lakeshow. I will be doing the same for tonight.

Lakers last year went into Cleveland and Boston and chalked up wins at both locales, sending the Cavs to their first loss of the season at home.

They may very well be the team that emerges victorious tonight.

Game 4 last year they lost SU and ATS...you got them as covering there.  Minor mistake, and I knew what you meant, but I really like the Lakers here tonight.

Nuggets roll tonight!!! They've had this game circled on their calendar all offseason. They want revenge after the Lakers ousted them in the playoffs! No Pau Gasol and Lakers playing back to back! Nuggets roll in this one!!! See how the Suns played in their back to back vs. the Lakers? Same thing happens tonight! Denver wins by 10+!

This spread is right where it should be (based on a statistical system that I am still working the kinks out of).  And with the Lakers playing last night, and the nuggs badly wanting some kind of revenge after last years playoffs I think the play tonight is with the nuggs.  That being said, I do live in denver but will not be in action on this game, just want to sit back and enjoy it.  GL whichever side you take.

I like the under 211.5.  last 8 meetings in denver are 2-6 on the over-under.

Theres a difference between last years lakers and those lakers who will be playing tonight. Gasol is not playing and they have that Artest guy in starting 5 who did nothing for them so far and still getting used to the system...
These lakers got blown out by soft Dallas team in LA, which i highly doubt would happen to last years lakers...
So I think that using last seasons trends for this years LA team can get you into trouble...

Isn't the 2nd game of a back to back IN DENVER the hardest place to play the 2nd of a back to back?  Thin air.  So if Denver comes out strong, which I think we agree there is a good chance of that.  It will be hard for the Lakers to make a run in the second half.  They are facing thin air on a b2b missing a key player in their rotation to take a bulk of minutes in Gasol.  This could be one of those games where if Denver is up by 5 early in the 2nd half and they have a little run to push it to double digits, it could get ugly for Lakeshow.  I think revenge plus b2b in Denver equals a nuggs cover.

This is an interesting game. This game has Denver blow out written all over it.. But at the same time Kobe with the points is usually always good value.. Im not concerned about Lakers playing a back to back because they have 3 days off before they played yesterday. They will be fine.. Im hoping Artest can slow Carmelo down. No one can guard Kobe. Jr Smith as always is the Xfactor. If he goes off its a wrap for the Lakers. But Lakers +4 and +150 are worth playing imo.. Good Luck to all

Teams playing @ Denver or @Utah over the years unrested has been one of my favorite angles...I love the Lakers(grew up in LA area)but love $$$ more...Nougats get it done 2night -4.....

Lakers have been a good team to bank on even in the back-end of a back-to-back game. 23-14 ATS over the past 3 seasons in exactly this situation.

Gun to my dick, i'd take the Lakers.

although majority of previous games, total has been under, i can see OVER 212 being easy money. we all know how big denver shoot at home, and the absence of gasol will prove crucial, LA will not be able to rely on there away defence strategy without pau, and i have no worries about carmelo smashing artest up tonight, wouldnt be suprised if kobe knocks up a 40+ score
