my gut screams if hill doesn't play, take the points. but i'll probably lay off.
But if you lay off, then it's down to two games: Memphis/Spurs (surprised Memphis is getting that many points) and Heat/Pacers which is gonna be a big line and Hill may not play in that one either.

For what it's worth, teams are always a bit coy with injury reports as part of the chess match and game prep. Pacers.com reports that Hill took part in todays shoot around. A subsequent article "The NBA Releases Summary of its Concussion Policy" may hold the key and would seem to suggest that Hill has passed some of the testing or he would not be allowed to resume any activity at all with the team. He will face more testing before game time. Check it out and draw your own conclusions.
I think Hill plays.

As a rule of thumb TNT's NBA talking heads are just entertainment and nothing more... But Kenny said a week ago that the role players always play better at home. If that plays out tonight like it should Pacers win despite not not playing.

Ok but as we've all seen with stars out, role players are also supposed to step up after losing a key player which the Pacers role players didn't do in Game 5 without Hill.

If that is the case then I'm assuming you are already on the pacers because the line will move with him.

I haven't declared yet. But I'm leaning that way. The Pacers have definitely played better at home this season with their next man up mentality and their star, Granger, sidelined. The line is no different than the first two games played at Bankers Life Field House in which Hill did play. I would have thought that the line would be lower to begin with without Hill. But what do I know? To me, the line suggests that Hill is playing.

That line is Hill definitely plays which surprises me.

good stuff...i dont get on here much but today when i did i found myself looking for your thread. no one breaks games down like you do on here... at least anyone that i waste time looking at. regardless if i agree or disagree with the analysis i appreciate the views and time you take writing stuff up.
i hate taking favorites. most of my plays are dogs and unders. i think asking the pacers to go in to tonights game and win by at least 6 is a tall order against this knicks team. Im from indiana. I love the pacers and hate the fukin knicks. youre spot on with the way melo is playing is setting the team up for failure. i cant believe how hard headed he is. he has to change or he will never have success.
With that being said.. I think this is going to be a great game tonight. The Pacers are built for a slower paced grind it out style of game. I thnk Hibbert and West are going to get a ton of touches tonight which originally makes me lean under. But then I think of how AWFUL the Knicks have been on offense lately. And dont get me wrong.. all of the credit goes to that awesome pacer defense. The knicks on the other hand are built to flat out out score their opponents. The Knicks avg over 98 ppg this season. Over the last 3 they are avg less than 80. I have been waiting for break out games from Melo and Smith. One thing scorers do.. is score. These guys are 72/196 combined from the field in this series...only 36%. Smith has yet to shoot over 33% from the field against the pacers. I get a hard on over defense. Thats why i like the pacers. But sometimes you just cant guard people. The knicks are way past due for a solid offensive performance. They have shot only 31% in the last 3 games. I dont see this holding up. I think Melo and Smith both have monster games tonight. The knicks must force tempo in order to win and I think thats what will happen. The under seems like a no brainer to me with the way things have been playing out. But you know smith and melo arent going out without letting it ride any time they get an inch of space. My book has the total at 179... and i think it will be very close to that number. But I do think it goes over. Close games with free throws at the end... I think it barely goes over (maybe even less than 5 points) but I do think this is the play. This pacer team can score as well... they dropped 125 on this knicks team at home earlier in the season along with a 44 point quarter. It seems like a lot of people are in line to get this under... Im going to fade them and go over.
This write up doesnt mean i like the knicks to cover in any way. I am still unsure on that aspect of the game. But i am taking OVER 179 and am going to hope for a little higher scoring game than what most are expecting. GL scal.

All that analysis is worthy of a thread of its own and you have established an argument for the over.
72/196....good god...that is incredibly brutal.
As far as JR, I have been waiting for this piece of shi$ to break out ALL SERIES. And it keeps getting worse.....and worse.....and worse....and then finally he goes 4/11 and the talking heads say, "He may have found just shot !" Yeah, 4 of 11 is finding your shot...
Still, I am wary of a breakout game by him still, and one from Tyson, and Felton, and Martin, and for Kidd to make a layup and on and on and on.
Maybe as you say, it's not the Knicks. It is the Pacer D that is completely disrupting them and will continue to do so.
That is why I am so am ambivalent about either side with the Hill playing status further complicating things...GL

Hill is gonna play bro, they don't want this to go back to NY.
The problem with Hill is due to the NFL. Because of the lawsuits and impending lawsuits against them due to the league failing to address concussion issue, other leagues are now overly cautious.
The battery of tests hill must pass by a certified neurologist is extensive. It is no joke. The NBA will have no problem making him sit this game out, and maybe even a 7th game if it gets there.
