I’m on the Thunder -6 as well as -3 in the first half. The Thunder began the season with road wins in Chicago and Cleveland, but yesterday their home opener turned into a calamity as the champs trashed them by 33. What the Thunder want is a chance to make amends and get that taste out of their mouths. So how about another home game the very next night?
What makes this play appealing to me is that it was their starting backcourt of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey who laid the biggest eggs shooting a combined 6-29. Both were held in the single digits, Giddey with 9 points and SGA with a measly 7 points on embarrassing 2-16 bricking. Gilgeous-Alexander praised the Nuggets afterwards and admitted that his team “couldn’t compete with them.” From that statement I detected a bruised ego. I feel confident we’re going to get a fired-up SGA on this Monday night.
No one on the team played more than 28 minutes yesterday, so lack of rest won’t be an issue.
The Pistons are an improved team and a solid 3-0 ATS, but this will be their first game against an opponent in a foul mood.
Earlier today I missed out on laying -5.5, so the most important result tonight is not winning or losing - it’s this damn game not landing on mothereffing 6!!!!
I’d rather see the Thunder win by 5 than 6. You think I’m kidding? Nope, I mean it.

I heard somewhere that the Thunder don’t play defense, but something must’ve inspired them to play D in that first quarter. The Pistons were held to 30% from the field.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander picked it up in the second quarter, finishing the half with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Thunder maintained the same 12-point lead they had at the end of the 1st quarter.
