Defense defense defense... blah blah blah. Chicago will get ousted in the first round this year and I will put tons of money where my mouth is.
Washington ML game 1? Book it
The Bulls are completely overrated coming into this playoffs due to their high-octane defense and coaching yet will still be the one struggling to score 90 in multiple games this postseason.

For me this series is not about defense, defense, defense.
It's about coaching, coaching, and coaching.
This is one of the biggest first round coaching mismatches that the playoffs have given us in a long time.
Chicago has the best coach in the East, and homecourt advantage. You must love them at only -200 to win the series with all there playoff experience, let me know once you have unloaded.

This is a bad matchup for Chicago and they can certainly lose. Scoring will be a problem as you noted, LC. But every time we write off this team they surprise us. Heart, grit and determination get you far in this world. I think they split in Chicago. Probably split in Washington and the series goes 6 or 7. The best way to bet this series (IMO) is to bet on the team that lost the previous game.

I'm a huge Bulls fan going back to the Bill Cartwright days with his funky free throw shot. I watch almost all their games and can tell you this -- Bulls do not win this series. With Rose (remember him?), I'd bet a million on them winning the series at -200 ... But without him ... No shot

did you guys not watch the bulls absolutely decimate the wizards two weeks ago? you'll likely see similar results in this series. the wizards are a one-dimensional team with little-to-no playoff experience. bulls d--which during the first couple of months of the season was good, but truly became great after the all-star break--will be firing on all cylinders. (also, as long as randy wittman is on the sidelines for the wiz, don't expect an upset.) bulls in 5.

Just think of it this way -- in a close, one possession game with 30 seconds left, they cut away to a split screen shot of the coaches. You really want your money on Wittman instead of Thibs in that situation? Really?

Teams that have never been to the playoffs learn real quick it's a very different game. Worst possible match up for the Wiz. Bulls are going to beat them up and make them play a game they don't want to. Bulls will win rather easily imho. This will be a good experience for them though and will learn, Wiz are for real. They are one year away though.

Please tell me your joking. That possibly was the worst spot of the year for the Wizards. Playing on 0 rest after a last second 1 point win against the Knicks the night before, against a defensive Bulls team with double revenge, and playing without one of their best players as Nene was gone.
Even with that game, the Wizards are still 2-1 against the Bulls this year, and they have Nene back.

Thanks for bringing that up 165yds, and let me clarify that for you as you are completely wrong. One of the reasons the Wizards are flying under the radar is because exactly what you said, everyone thinks there unexperienced and have never done it before.
Newsflash:
Here are the total playoff games for the veterans on the Wizards
Miller: 52 career playoff games
Nene: 42 career playoff games
Ariza: 41 career playoff games
Harrington: 48 career playoff games
Gooden: 40 career playoff games
Gortat: 46 career playoff games
Please tell me how Chicago is more experienced
The Bulls are dead money this season. There +6600 to win it all for a reason

They don't 'struggle' to score 90 a game.
They average 93 because they hold their opponents to 91 and have won almost 50 games while doing so.
So the defense, defense, defense, you said blah blah blah to is inherent in their brand of basketball, a brand so many are envious of that Thibs is one of the most respected, if not desired coaches in the NBA.
One problem is the Wizards haven't played a meaningful game since the beginning of the month vs the Magic, Heat, Celtics (all tanking) and the Bucks who are as bad as any team tanking.
The Bulls have played meaningful games right till the final buzzer of the season. That is tough to overcome in a game 1 in Chicago, tough in its own right, outside of the disparity on the defensive end (which is stark). Game 1 will be crucial to your prediction which you have now said 'book it' to in terms of the ML.

You misread what I said, I said they will struggle to score 90 a game in the playoffs. I know how much they averaged in the season

There's a huge difference there, noone expects the Wizards to win the championship. People think the Bulls as a legitimate darkhorse in the East. I'm not saying the Wizards have any chance of going the distance, but in this series definitely.

Even given my misinterpretation as you say, if they did struggle to score 90 a game in the playoffs, that would be expected given their season average of 93.
So you should be expecting the bulls to have 86-88 points with 1:30 remaining but that certainly won't mean anything in terms of winning the game on a ML if you are on the other side (the spread is a different story) if they have held up their end of the bargain defensively (almost a given in the regular season only to be heightened in the playoffs).

I don't know who these people are.
I'm sure their are some but I haven't seen a groundswell of support for them to even go far in the East given that Nate, Belinelli (two guys so crucial vs. the Nets last year) are gone and Deng was basically given away. Even Boozer was going to be amnestied at one points
And still the bulls won almost 50 games....with
Defense defense defense.
Can't just give that a hand wave. It means everything.
