I couldn't remember the last time this Thunder squad lost a game by double-digits.
I checked and it was a 'lil over a month ago when they hosted Dallas.
The Thunder have been in lots of close and tight games this month. It seems, this Thunder team can hang with any team in any manner or style of game; except against the Cavaliers & the Lakers.
During the Kevin Durant era (post Seattle Sonics), the Thunder have only won one game out of five against the Cavaliers. All four losses were blow-outs, double-digit wins by the Cavaliers. And that includes this season's lone meeting between the two teams back in December whence OKC was 3.5 points underdog at home. Score: Thunder 89, Cavaliers 102.
And thats exactly why this line is surprisingly high for a team that [we all think] can just about hang with any team. Even then it seems to be a fair line; as a renouned public team like the Cavaliers is only getting 50% of the action.
But the line is also near double-digits posession because the Thunder is on the back-end of a back-to-back. The Thunder lost another tight one in Memphis last night in what was a defensive battle.
Did i just say that? A defensive game in Memphis?
Well, thanks to Jeff Green's defensive effort last night, the Thunder have the best field-goal defense in the league right now. That spot used to belong to the LA Lakers; so thanks also to the Lakers for having a trackmeet of a game against the Knicks, who scored 5 points above their season average.
If not for the situational factor for both teams (a well-rested home team and a road team on 0-day rest), i think a more fair line would be around -4.5 or so. Agree? Or not?

Thunder: 15-7 ATS on the road this season.
Cavaliers: 7-12 ATS at home this season.
For the season, the Thunder are 5-3 ATS when playing on 0-day rest; 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on 0-day rest.
For the season, the Thunder are 6-5 ATS when revenging a home loss.
