Thunder/Pels

I'm pretty excited for this play in game Wednesday evening. I expect Tuesday's games to be more underish. Looking at last season when New Orleans played their way in in 2 elimination games against Spurs then Clips, both to big unders, might lead bettors to think we get that same pattern again but I see it differently. Pels got kind of lucky in that they beat a very young, inexperienced Spurs team last year. San Antonio got down early and never recovered thus Pels didn't have to push. Then Pels caught another break and faced Clips w/out Kawhi and George was a late covid scratch and the game sailed under.

This matchup Wednesday has zero excuses. I love how the Thunder never give up, their young guys keep pushing all game long no matter what the score. Pels will have their hands full. If we get a decent ref crew I really like OKC TT over 111.5, +5 ATS, +180ML and game over 228.5. This feels like a game that's tied at 111-111 at some point to me. I don't hang much on their last reg season mtg as Pels were undermanned. I think Covers may be lulled into unders after Tues 2 games and the Bulls/Raps game but this game will blow up. I also feel the League jobbed Thunder coming down the stretch to try and get Mavs in so Thunder may get some love back here. I'm hoping OKC slip by Pels as Thunder/Lakers or Thunder/Wolves would be exciting.

Yes monkee both games went under like I kinda thought which is good for us tonight in a weird way. I'm sure most bettors are thinking we've hit playoff basketball and games will start to go under b/c of more defense. I actually think we catch a break b/c of that thinking and those 2 unders yesterday. OKC is a young team, avg age in the early 20s so these guys will be ready to run all game and won't tire. What we saw in Miami and LA last night was old, seasoned vets slowing the game down. 38 year old LeBron and 37 year old Lowry and 33yo Butler don't want to run...young 20s SGA, Dort, Giddey and the Williams will fly, especially 2nd half when the older Pels (McCollum/Val) try to play defense. pels have young guns to that will abide. Last year they were up by 17pts starting 4th qtr hosting SA and game was over. Tonight should be close 90-90 entering 4th qtr so should continue to ramp up as one team knows they are going home if they lose. We have a decent ref crew led by Lewis. Once again I'll reference that the Pels last year got extremely lucky when they played a very inexperienced Spurs team and then got Clips w/out Kawhi and late scratch PG3 thus both games went under. I think diff scenario tonight. Pels are going to be tested as I feel Thunder just won't give up.

I also like the fact that Zion Williamson isn’t returning anytime soon. They may showcase these young guns and advance them to the second round!

One interesting thing about the Bulls/Raps game is we have James Williams reffing his 1st playoff game as lead ref. He usually plays 2nd or 3rd fiddle in a handful of playoff games but he got the promotion. Normally in these situations the "rookie" lead ref will lean on his other 2 refs, in this case Scott and Ervin. Those 2 have linked up numerous times this year, and most recently in last 2 reg season games together, in normally high scoring affairs. I'd guess if this games starts out kinda slow and somehow goes under that 103 total 1st half then 2nd half is almost a must bet for me on the over. Well, if the League has this game be a big Raps win to another under then they have to think about what it's like to sit on the last game tonight OKC/NO before a day off with no NBA coming off 2 unders yesterday. What message do they want to send going into a huge Friday night. I'll eat my hat if this late game doesn't blow up. Adding to my original bets as I believe OKC will push and refs and players will be onboard. This reminds me of the 2019-2020 Grizz/Blazers play in game that ended 126-122.
