VEGAS says POR wins by DD's and the PUBLIC is scared shitless,not the KING

POR -9.5

60 win HOU vs. 56 win POR and the 56 win team must win by 10 or more

not sure what planet it was you saw the rockets win 60 games last season or portland at 56 for that matter, but i do like the pick. portland will be seeking some redemption over last years playoff exit to houston, even though it's quite a different roster they'll be facing. i'd rather lay the first half number which should be -5 than 9.5 for the whole game. good luck sir.

Rockets will overachieve this year.  With a bevy of 3 point shooters I wouldn't be surprised to see them get a backdoor cover if not a win.  They play very well against Portland, Yao or no Yao.

ummm I think you're failing to account for that 60 win Houston team missing Yao Ming, Ron Artest, and Dikembe Mutombo (I tihnk he retired last year). But it's a crap shoot to see how the team plays without em. This line is all based on public perception. I'm interested to see what kinda team Houston is with only Tracy Mcgrady.

POR is still under the radar of the average joe bettor and joe loves defensive teams getting points.

Only thing joe knows is what espn tells him to know.

I don't know how much blazer basketball you watched last year but they were absolutely horrid in the first half of games. If anything I would feel more confident playing them -9.5 for the full game rather than -5 to start the half. For all you blazer backers I would strongly suggest to play them 2nd half as they will most likely by up or down somewhere around 3, if not tied.

Portland i feel will have early issues tryin to get all the talented people the ball and chemistry and rotations worked out esp at SF

but they are deep and loaded....by mid season they will be a western conference force

no feel for this game...slight lean over but will wait and see

uh, that was with some combo of yao, artest, and mcgrady..all of whom aren't there.

the entire starting lineup is different -- why is last year relevant?

Because that's what the bettor will use to make their choice when betting at the start of this season.

This is my only locked in play thus far also. Andre Miller is a key addition and HOU without YAO and Mcgrady won't stand a chance. Portland has way more depth and they are one of the best home teams in the NBA. This is the play of the night IMO.. GL

I only played one pre-season game and it was POR at home vs. SAC at -9. I banged that and hit that. It was tight at the end of the 3rd but they pulled away in the 4th. Against HOU in a game that counts I'm not so sure.
