I'll also throw this hat into the ring:
STL Cardinals had one of the best W-L in 2+run games in the MLB. So. There's that.

I'm on opposite of both, what are your thoughts Baby?
I follow the theory that in preseason, some teams play to win and others are just practicing; they don’t play like the games matter. That’s why every year you see some of the worst teams excel in the preseason, only to flop once the regular season starts. And I certainly don’t play teams just because they were good last (regular) season. I try to ignore the past.
So I greatly favor teams that have been winning, figuring they will continue to try, against teams that have losing records, figuring they only win when it falls in their laps.
Three teams with the best preseason records are Sea, Clev, and TB. They win around 75% or better. So I’m always looking to play them.
Another thing I like is teams that hit rather than depend on pitchers. Pitchers don’t play long in preseason games; usually the max is around 5 innings. And they don’t necessarily throw that hard; they’re just warming up. Then you get who the f*ck knows out of the bullpen. So I look at starting pitchers but only to make sure I’m not considering taking the worst against the best.
Clev and Sea meet the hitting criteria fairly well; they strike me as more hitting oriented and don’t have much for big pitchers.
And in the case of today’s plays, the pitchers looked as good or better than the opposition, so that really helped the decision.
Liked TB too as I thought it was an even game, but it seem like something was wrong and everyone liked Balt, so no play.
Hope this helps, and remember I keep it SMALL on preseason unless there's an extreme...
