I've seen the last three Pistons game in full length and feel like I feel good about this play.
I love this spot for Detroit. I think they're catching the Pacers at the perfect time for possibly an outright road win.
This month the Pistons have been playing good efficient offense and scrappy defense. They are still towards the bottom in FTM and 3PM per game, but their shots per game is allowing them to still put up points. They also are tops in defensive rebound % at almost 83% while being second in offensive rebound % at almost 30%.
The difference in this game in my opinion will be at the center position. Turner has been almost non existent through the month of March and has never fared well against Drummond historically.
Indiana was surging a couple months ago and it was because of the balance of contributions they were getting from everybody on the roster. Things right now are the complete opposite and just like the Thunder, it's hurting the Pacers. George is having an amazing month so far, but isn't getting any help and it shows because they aren't even cracking 95 points per game in their last three.
I've seen Morris, Reggie, Andre, Ish and even Baynes have very solid games this month, which has only been three games so far, but I think the Pistons are getting much more contribution from everybody on the team than the Pacers. Add in the fact that they're hustling on defense and the lack of shots Indiana takes in general, I give the edge to Detroit.
This is kind of compares to my selection with Portland yesterday in that the Pacers, like the Thunder aren't playing nearly well enough cohesively for me to back them in this spot. Right now it's George vs the world and I think the world takes this one again.

i like the fact that the pacers have won the last 3 this season making this pistons win/cover more probable
Yup, but unlike the last at least two meetings, the Pacer's aren't coming in with any kind of momentum. They're lucky to be 1-2 and not 0-3 since the Rockets beat themselves.

I always look forward to you posting, not because I want to tail your plays but I enjoy the explanation you put with it and how much detail you go into. Keep it up dude!

Nice analysis. TY.
Only thing is if you throw out the last game (2nd of back to back- they suck at those) they aren't playing that poorly.

You're right they aren't. The offense is my main concern, not necessarily their defense. Detroit is playing more team ball right now as well as not turning it over.
The Pacers will need "junk points" as I call them aka free throws and the extra point from a three pointer to cover this game in my opinion but right now they aren't able to get to the line and even when they do, they're only hitting 65%.

Hmmmm the Pistons return home after this game on zero rest to play the Cavs off a home loss to the Heat. This could be the game that SVG gets his team to wake up and play some ball because he would know how bad his team is on B2B's let alone play an angry Cavs team off 2 embarrassing losses to the Heat in less than a week..

I also have watched the last three Stons games, aren't you a little concerned with them coming back in the 4th Monday night to blowout the Bulls, maybe coming out flat tonight?

Nice hit last night with Blazers...

That's not the reason for my concern. Being away and not being team who don't typically run away with games is my concern. I use my own term called "junk points". They are the extra point from a three and free throws. The Pistons get very little of those. They've got to make mass buckets since almost all of their possessions are twos or 1 out of 2 free throws.
The Bulls hung close, but the Pistons didn't do anything special to win it. The Bulls just felt the lack of Rondo and Wade. They have no legit scoring other than Butler and quite frankly not that many guys who even look to score.
Both teams have been struggling to get to the free throw line. The Pacers are a better three point shooting team, but right now they lack offensive contribution on offense. Their defense is still good, but if the Pistons can get up 10-15 more shots, with everything else I mentioned, it's tough to not take the Pistons getting points.

That's kind of where I get lost in this Hornets Heat game.
I see people taking Charlotte +4 but their last two wins were against the 27th and 28th place teams in terms of shot attempts this month, and they got smacked by the Suns who only took 77, which is far below average.
Opponents are shooting 50% against them in the month of March not to mention Miami is second this month averaging 90 shots a game.
That's where that game confuses me.

You bring up a good point and perhaps. I think that had a lot to do with why the Heat lost to Orlando. They were "looking ahead"
I think though, just from my own perspective;
You have to get up to play with equal energy every single game no matter who it is. You can't treat the Cavs any different than say the Pacers. Quite frankly, the Cavs are in big trouble right now. I alluded to this back when they lost Love but found a way to beat Minnesota. That game wasn't an accurate reflection of what that team will be like when that injury settles in. The Cavs are a joke on defense and to be honest are vulnerable against 80% of the league right now. It shouldn't be a look ahead spot at all, other than the name written on the front of their jerseys.

Thanks for the Blazers last night man, I wouldn't have chosen that one. I'm on the Twolves tonight first half, full game and ML. Capped it real hard and looks like they have a good chance to win SU. Will tail you tonight I suppose, gotta look at it some. Good luck man ..

Cool. Wolves have looked pretty good lately for the most part. They're a team I'll probably start to fade with about 8 games to go. Their starters play way too many minutes
