Folks trying to convince me (my opinion) that titles is the ultimate criteria to determine who is better than another player is like "someone pissing on me and then trying to convince me that it is raining" to me it's just not the case.
A players stats is what determines greatness.....and lbj will pass...magic, kobe, jordan.....even Jabbar.......
1) 5 out of the top 10 rated seasons of all time already belongs to LBJ
2) What player in history....facilitated his team;s offense....was also leading scorer on team.....leading assist guy on team....ran down folks and blocked their shots.....held folks at his position to 20% fg shooting percentage.....was capable of grabbing double digit rebounds.....best finisher on the break in the league.....guarded multiple positions in the same game....and during crunch time guarded the other teams best pg, sg, sf or pf????? Answer is No Bod eeee
3) Rookie of year, 3 NBA MVP, NBA Final MVP, Scoring Champ, 2 gold medals, will be #1 all time scorer, will be top 3 in career steals.....will be top 3 in career assists......will be #1 SF of all time....will continue to bounce either wilt, jordan or oscar from the top 10 as he continues to have highly efficient and rated seasons (see #1).....
4) And most importantly....I think the heat is about to go on a run and make maybe 5 or 6 consecutive nba finals in a row.....in other words....as great as LBJ is already....his narrative is still being written becuase he is nowhere near done

@ wareeagle....you are correct. LBJ is not close. But the reason he is not close is becuase his career is not close to being over. Once his career is over then we can make a true comparison of one person career to another person's career.

Now, your Magic memories are valid. Since you asked, I too am 40+ years old.....The lakers were my favorite team in the 80's and I cheered for Magic over Bird in the 80's......and I remember those Lakers like it was yesterday.....As great as Magic was and is...he benfefitted from playing with HALL OF FAMERS (Kareem and Worthy)....and had great rebounders and shooters to support his skills....and they could get their own shot (Norm Nixon, Bob McAdoo..etc..etc...)....but your reference to an old Kareem is true but incomplete....even an old kareem had an unstoppable and unblockable SKY HOOK shot....the best signature move in NBA history.....Magic had that to go to in the crunch time...LBJ never played with any hall of famers in Cleveland and when Shaq got there...it was not the good ole Shaq .....it was an OLD Shaq.
What player doesn't want titles more....but when you have been drafted #1 by a poorly ran poorly coached team with NO HALL OF FAMERS on the roster to play with....well there will be No titles.
That's when we (maybe only me -- lol) must be able to say.....hmmmm that JIM BROWN guy sure can run the ball but he sure didn't have any help....I think he is better than OJ Simpson.
