Why are NBA ratings continuing to drop dramatically?

I live there for over a decade and the boys could rattle off stats of my Sixers when they were pre The Processes. They had them memorized.  There were more NBA fans in China then the entire population of the USA and now Xi  came down hard on the CCP ass kissing  NBA. CCP makes people disappear for writing wrong "ideas" on Weibo or We Chat and have concentration camps based on race and religion plus they are using slave labor in Africa and especially the Uyghurs in factories making NBA products and Nike products.  But Lebron said it is a business decision not to criticize China. He is full of shite with social justice. African Americans will be the smallest minority soon as Asian Americans will pass them in ten years.  African Americans are over represented not under represented compared to Latino- Hispanics and Asian Americans. 

Racism is why. It's very popular in this sick country. 

I don't pay attn to those numbers.  They say MLB, NBA, NFL ratings are all dropping if that's the case what hell is everybody watching?  There surely isn't too many places to go.  I don't feed into that

Travel the world my son you haven't seen REAL racism til you have been to Asia, Africa,  Middle East,  South Asia.  They are still selling folks or born into debt slavery for generations.  You better be in the right tribe in Africa or you will be treated as a non person. Americans have the least amount of passports in the world they know little of it besides the propaganda news left or right. Like We live in the freedom country,  which is a joke for all races. There are three races in this country old inherited super rich, super rich by the new global economy and the middle rich by high education. It has nothing to do white or black. It is Money vs poor working class.  If We had and actual democracy would the two candidates really be two guys pushing 80. That is really the best We can do or the true power of this country gives us these two guys. Gates already said he would never want to be President because it would limit his power to just this country and there would be a very small time to have the power.  He had ungodly world power of uncountable money, information,  resources,  talent with zero restrictions around the entire globe.  That is the true power in this world. The largest banks in the world created, funded an entirely new political party that took all thepower in France to do its bidding with Macron.  Putin maybe the richest man on earth having total control like the Czar's of old. Xi has made himself the emperor of the Richest country on earth with the largest population on earth. Nothing really changes.  Meet the new boss same as the old boss. Clinton,  Obama, Trump, Bush 1  and 2. Biden or Trump is doesn't matter as long as the Military industrial complex gets its trillions every year and the big banks controlled by the global elite continue to control the serfs that moved from the fields  to the factories to office cubicles to now being replaced by AI and robotics whenever they deem it necessary. Enjoy your time on this spinning ball try to make your own time your own that your children are Educated and will enjoy their short time on this earth it goes by fast. Enjoy your life and you can't take your money with you so spend it and travel,  travel,  travel.  The most dangerous country on earth is the USA so get out there before it is too late. Life is a wonderful short gift use it to the full. 

I've known some people who doesn't watch NBA now because there is no fans in stadium. And I also agree on them, looks pretty stale with no audience, its like playing 2K.

Why does one watch a movie? They want suspense... they want to see the hero have opposition and make it.... NFL provides that.... its competitive all year around and has a sense of unknown.... Basketball is glorified pick up ball on television now.... Beforehand even if the best teams were the typical lakers etc you still had very good basketball being played due to defense and good decisions made on the floor... today's product just doesn't compare and in reality with more and more less experienced 1 year players coming into the league will only get worst and worst. You can actually watch a game on many occasions and call out what's going to happen simply just from terrible ball being played.

Too many replays since the refs can't make the right call. I watched the NFL last night and it was SMOOTH. No replays or anything. 

I agree with tons of stuff in this post including all these guys simply being friends/lack of competition. But here is another thing I have realized and it kinda has to due with us bettors. The current state of the NBA seems to be a league where you are either a hardcore watcher or you do not watch at all. When I am at parties/events and there is a football game on, everyone will watch, females too, and not know anything about the teams or the specifics about the game. With Basketball you do not see this, people are not coming together to watch basketball and the people that are watching are the ones who know more about the game than they likely should, and there are few of those. I like the current state of the NBA and how the teams shape out across the league, but when it comes to ratings the NBA does a horrible job at promoting teams other than the Lakers or Clippers. There is tons of talent in the league and there are tons of guys who can put on a show. I do not see a real solution for increasing the ratings but I think it all has to due with the state of the league and who is watching. 

I enjoyed the game much more when defense was allowed to be played and hard fouls were not all that uncommon. Now if someone gets a little handsy there’s a replay and a flagrant/tech issued.

Also, if you say it is because of politics, I slightly disagree. I am a Conservative and so is the rest of my family. I used to get together with cousins/uncles to watch the big games but we have not so far as they cut the cord on it , and this was big fans. There are some of those people, but I feel the majority are like me where I disagree with the whole BLM movement and the NBA being a martyr league but I try to ignore it and watch the game I love. Now, there is only one side to this where it can end bad, and this is new viewers. All this politics may not push current viewers away but it may slow down the spread of the league with the newer generation. 

Agreed 100% with this. The players think this is a good thing when it actually is not. They are far more interested in making sure each of their buddies gets payed instead of winning. Nowadays everyone congratulates each other when they sign a contract. You think Jordan congratulated Malone on his new contract in the 90's?   

Whos home at 5:30 to watch a roundball game on channel 77. Its not even being promoted like in the past. This is lers finish the season and regroup for next year. Plus you have a bunch of over the hill haters in power that look for a reason to hate on everything.
