Why are the Spurs only favored by 4 pts againts the Pacers

If one were to use the buy low sell high approach in this game....which team would you be buying low and which team selling high?

Guys, don't you learn it throughout this season. Tomorrow will win Indiana SU. it's the law of the nba, hot team, who wins last 17 meets the bad team, who don't cover last 15 or so matches. Who will take spurs- prepare for massacre. It's indiana tomorrow, that's all

Indy is 10-2 SU, 2-9-1 ATS since Feb 1
They're 3-5 SU, 4-4 ATS as dogs this season, but all on road
1st time as home dog this season. Everything points to a SA win and cover.
SA or no play.
I think under is the better play tho

Pacers home or away are playing extremely bad basketball lately.

Spurs have own the series (11-1 in the last 12 matchups), seeking revenge, 17 game winning streak.

Strong offense, strong bench, coaching, rested.

You either take the Spurs or PASS.

I can see this a hard fought game where both teams are close for 46-47 mins. Spurs are up by 3 with 10 seconds left, Pacers miss a game trying three point attempt, fouls and SA makes both FTs and win game by exactly 5 points.

Low scoring type of game 92-87.

Unless you know pop on a personal level and find out what hes thinking you stay away from this game.  He could very well lose on purpose as he has done many times before because he could care less about a regular season matchup.  Its all about the playoffs and the easiest route to getting another ring. Losing this game makes it just a little tougher on miami and pop knows that. If im the spurs i would much rather play the pacers over the heat in a 7 game series.

The problem with your analogy is that Indiana is not a bad team, they are merely playing bad. The Spurs are not overlooking this team. Heck, they beat the Spurs by double digits this year when the Spurs were not at their best. Do you think Indiana overlooked them then? No. Spurs will win this by double digits.

Oh, and BTW, when Indi and the Heat played against each other you had two good teams meet when they were both playing bad basketball at the same time. In other words, that Indi win over the Heat is not very meaningful. Indi will have to raise their level of play here even more than they raised it for Miami (a Miami team that the Spurs annihilated when Miami was playing well). You think they can do that overnight? How are they going to fix things when they don't even know what's wrong with them?

I completely agree with you on your Heat Pacers analogy. The Pacers beating the Heat means absolutely nothing tonight when they play the Spurs. Heat are playing just as bad as the Pacer are. It took the Heat nearly 4 minutes to score a basket against the Bucks and even though they won by 21 pts there performance was atrocious. If Milwaukee wasn't tanking on purpose they could of actually won that game against Heat but it was clear they were trying to miss everything in site. Final score was 88-67 if the Spurs played that same Bucks team that night the score would of been 112-67 and I'm not kidding you.

Spurs on bad night will still score over 90 points how will Indy get there points tonight cuz 85 pts isn't gonna cut it against the Spurs?

I find it hysterical that people think a coach with a .687 winning percentage (which is 3rd highest in NBA regular season history) is going to choose to lose or tank a game.  There's a reason he can rest his starters and win games with his bench.  He's a great coach.  He's a really friggin great coach.  

Winning is not a sometimes thing.

 And here is another angle for those who are afraid of taking the Spurs. Indi just beat the Heat, so in the eyes of some people they are even better than the Heat (despite their poor play of late). Don't you think that the Spurs will want to show the world that they are even better than the team that beat the Heat? In other words, better than the "best" team in the East?

Then could answer a question, why if the spurs will win it with double digits, they are only -4.5 ? Line says it all. if spurs will win it, line should be 6-7 points, according the fact IND on B2B, and how they play right now, but they are not.

Im not sure about this game so I will stay away but one thing I do know/learned the hard way is DO NOT try and fade a hot team HOPING they will finally lose.  Especially a hot disciplined team playing against slumping team that is horrible on B2B

The most logical bet is the spurs and the over, and I only like the over because the number has been pushed down so far.  Like previous posters stated, the spurs will score 95-100 easy

The line isn't a prediction of the game results.  Why was Phoenix -9.5 last night when they didn't even win the game, but were blown out by 16?

Tvorog, either you are new or have not been paying attention. The other day everyone and their mother was on the rockets because of the line. The line here doesnt mean jack. What, you want them to make the spurs 10 point favs. They are laying 4.5 against a 50 win team. Doesnt that tell you someting?

Looking at that boxscore, All 5 Indiana starters had negative +/-, but their bench were all in the positive.  The only person left on their bench from that game is Ian Mahinmi.  Parker was +23 and Duncan was +15.  That 17 point deficit was erased in only a quarters time.  IND 70-53 with 6:35 3Q - San Antonio outscored them 20-7 to finish 3Q and won the 4Q 31-20

My only play will be on the under for this game.   The intensity on defense should definitely be there for both teams tonight, I'm just not prepared to count on the Pacers offensive abilities to show up.

Nice research! And the Pacers bench today? Yikes!!! I think you are right about the Pacers having to bring the D in order to have a chance but remember this game will also be a test of wills and if the Spurs can get the Pacers to play up-tempo (especially as they know the Pacers are off a b to b) then the game may go over. You should see what the Spurs over/under record is against teams with 0 days rest.
