hes one of those many hypocritical phonies out there that like to believe that because he partakes in the activity that it must be clean and righteous. he like most of these other apologists, will never be able to see the light. they wander through life in their world of illusion.
i realize that it can be annoying when people continuously cry fix after a losing bet, but its infinitely more annoying when these holier than thou, phony hypocrites chime in with their worthless illogical banter about how games arent point shaved.
some of the most atrocious application of logic comes from these types. to say that athletes make millions and dont need the money , therefore have no financial gain to shave points.. are u freaking serious, who says that there has to be a direct financial gain to do something shady. u think only poor people commit crimes and that rich people dont because they dont need the money??????
another thing, these types ask why bet if the games are shady? for the same reason that everyone else does, for the shot to win money stupid! its still at worst a 50 50 proposition.
ive always known and witnessed many blatant cases of point shaving, but what really bothers me is that its happening a lot more than it used to. and in the bigger picture, what it does is make it very difficult to get on any sort of a hot streak. streaks are what its all about in order to truly get ahead, and this choppy win lose win lose, ultimately makes it more difficult and it is frustrating.
another thing, when the word fixed is used, it tends to imply a predestined outcome. but in actuality what takes place more often is that the end game, i said end game as in the ending of the game, as in the last few minutes of the game.... i have to emphasize that because i find over and over people miss the boat on this. the end game where the victor of the game has pretty much been established, well then theres still a pointspread and total to contend with. whats really amusing is when there is a 3 way collusion between both teams and the refs to where the scoring goes into an absolute frenzy to put the game over the total. there will be times when the players even find this so amusing they laugh while fouls are being commited and theres shots being jacked by both teams with 17 seconds left on the shot clock in a 20 point game.
you gotta understand first and foremost, athletes are entertainers. and a game like the clippers rockets yesterday was not going to be very compelling except for those that have hard earned money riding on it.
i know im all over the place with this, but heres the bottom line
point shaving is good for the sports and betting marketplace. it forces gamblers to watch to the very end.
it leads gamblers to tilt, it leads winners of backdoor covers into gaining a false sense of confidence.
if it wasnt for the gambling aspect very few people would watch this nonsense day in and day out. espn used to be a network that showed spelling bees and rodeos and bass fishing tournaments, now they show tons of nba and college basketball, why........ because the gamblers demand it.
