49ers by moving up to the 2 SEED just screwed themselves

Philly will lock up the 1 seed next Sunday after they beat the Giants who have nothing to play for. Giants have locked up the 6 seed, win or lose next Sunday, that will not change. 

Eagles 1 seed...

Niners moved from the 3 seed to the 2 seed after beating the Raiders today. They essentially went from playing the Giants in the wildcard round to playing a red hot Packers team with nothing to lose.

Niners were almost better off losing today and holding onto the 3 seed.

Or philly loses and SF gets #1 seed.

Jaguars had nothing to play for today.

Yes this is correct. GB wins next week, they play SF in round 1.

49ERS have beaten Green bay in the playoff's before. Green Bay don't strike fear into anyone.

The only thing that can mess the 49ers playoff run up is their stupid coach Kyle Shanahan. He's known for melt downs.

Hot team, defense learning to play. Packers are the one team the nfc opponents don’t want to play especially with the talent each team has at qb compared to Rodgers. Rodgers will be extra motivated from past exits from the niners to do it to them at home in the season that they have the best odds to make/win the SB. Fully agree dumb move to take the 2 seeding.

If Watson can come back.......then all the scarier.

Yeah man. Usually, you move up to a higher seed, you play a worse team, Niner's drawing a tougher opponent by moving up.

If I were Kyle Shanahan, I would love beating Raiders today and hoping to clinch NFC No. 1 seed in week 18.

We are not scared of a "hot" Green Bay team. Not sure if you know the history of the 49ers vs Green Bay in the playoffs, but we own them. Furthermore, do you not understand that the #1 seed is still very much in play for us. In what world when that is possible would you suggest losing?

 According to Peter King, Giants more dangerous against the Niners because they are an unorthodox team that the Niners don’t know well. Packers are a known entity. Plus, having two home games is a huge advantage.

Wow I'm sorry but this is just a bad post suggesting that a team should lose on purpose when they could still get the #1 seed. But they should be so afraid of the packers, who haven't even made the playoffs yet, that they just lose on purpose. 

49ers own GB in the playoffs. They could still end up as the 1 overall if Philly chokes their season away.

 Right now the 9er's would be playing Seattle......certainly no gift. Whomever gets Minnesota will be getting a gift.......worst 12-3 team ever......now worst 12-4 team ever.......yes I bet them today.

True, but Giants wouldn't mind spoiling a divisional rivalry's party. This has happened quite often before, these teams in the same division just don't like each others much.
