I thought the same thing watching the game. It was hard to see the ball. Rain was a factor as well, but so was Lamar's Jersey and skin color against that ball. Is it really racist to say/think this? Or is this political correctness gone crazy?
Here is exactly what Ryan said:
"He's really good at that fake, Lamar Jackson, but when you consider his
dark skin color with a dark football with a dark uniform, you could not
see that thing," Ryan said on air. "I mean you literally could not see
when he was in and out of the mesh point."

The guy was just analyzing, that's his job. Sounds to me like he is really into football if he saw such an intricate part of the game and shared it with the viewers.
I played QB in highschool(insert your Al Bundy jokes here) where we ran the wing-T. Nothing but fakes to multiple running backs on every play. So deception was a key focus and the coaches harped about it constantly. I know exactly what Ryan is talking about.
And with a wet leather football against a black jersey and Lamar's arms, of coarse it was hard to see. And he executes those belly fakes very well.
You know what the sad thing is? If racism didn't exist, no one would think twice about what he said.
Now, a potentially controversial and ethical question, but I'll ask it...If that analyst was an African American, would the Niners fire him?
That's just how I see it, sports first. I mean I'm not black and don't know what it feels like being called dark skinned. But I've been called marshmallow a s s and it didn't bother me.

Excellent point. I've heard Ryan on the radio. He is one of the most astute analysts out there. He goes into the nuances and subtleties of the game (I've not hear one racist sounding comment from him) and this is what he gets.

It's not about rough world been through war so dont hide behind your keyboard and talk tough usually those are the biggest pussies
This is how innocent people get persecuted . Just because there are racists in this country does not mean this man was being racist. He was stating facts, as he saw it. I am married to a black woman and have biracial kids. I have seen racism in action against them. I don't see any racism here. Just overreaction by a lot of people who are too scared to stand up for what is right.

BB, agree Dont think he was being racist but in the country we live in racism still exists , Its a judgment call was responding to jpot and about how hes tired of political correctness movement. Half these people that are racist never visited other countries.

I know what you're saying. I'm an immigrant myself. But in other countries the racism is often hidden under a veneer of civility. France, for example. Even if your family has been there for 4 generations, they'll still look at you as an outsider. You'll never be one of them. In America, the racism, when it surfaces, it is obvious. I actually prefer that, since I know exactly where people stand.

That’s the generation we’re in.. “politically correct”and click bait also possibly ruining people’s lives over “poor choice of words”.. that’s tagging someone with the racial card for saying the word - dark
If this is now..what does the future hold for us with all these sensitive people in power-and more to come with this generation..that seemed extreme to me..smh
Winning isn’t everything.. It’s the Only thing.

Comedians have it the worst. They can't say sh*t anymore!!!
One of the best roasts I've seen was Flava Flav. People of all races who like each other, laugh at each other. Some one said that he looks like a skeleton wrapped in electrical tape, snoop dog nearly pissed himself.
The uptight PC crowd does not know how to laugh.
