A quick note on tonight's game Steelers @ Broncos

Question

I like PITT at frist glance. All of the signs point to PITT for the win here. DEN backfield is banged up and PITT is better in preseason and regular season. Trends all point to PITT, but the line is 2.5? If PITT was a surefire, the line would have opened up at 4. Something is fishy about this. Looking back to yesterday and friday, the teams that were supposed to lose wither won str8 up (CAR, ARZ, BUF, S.F., STL almost own, KC almost won, JETS lost) are winning. The only teams that won with no problems (off the top of my head) were BALT and HOU. Those lines were -4 and -5.5. NO line was all over the place but for the most part was 3.5. Once again the books are telling u who they think is gonna win with any line over 3. 2.5 is bait to me. SO, if those (BALT, HOU, and NO) were surefire vcitories, why would PIT not be -4 at the least?

because pitt isn&#x27;t an overwhelming sure-fire winner in this game. denver is at home for the first time and they"ll be pumped for tonight.that being said, pitt is definitely the better team so the -2.5 will get my money..... line will prob be at 3 by tonight. BUT, it&#x27;ll be closer than the hou-dal and bal-nyg games.

I am usually more willing to take the dog at &#x2B;2.5 and the chalk at  -3.5. but that logic didn&#x27;t work out very well for me yesterday when I took the Browns. Sometimes, oddsmakers are wrong.

its not that oddsmakers are wrong... its just how much more can they move the line?

You should be more worried about where the line opened than where it is currently set... i'd feel more comfortable backing PITT if it opened at pitt -2.5

&#xD;&#xA;You&#x27;re right, I don&#x27;t know why I said the oddsmakers are wrong. I was just speaking in terms of my own logic when I use a line as part of the equation to capping my game.

i think that means that denver wins the game outright, the public pounding the steelers who are probably a top 5 public team on sunday night as a road favorite does not bode well for steelers backers. then again, it&#x27;s preseason, and all kinds of ridiculous things can happen that don&#x27;t typically happen during the regular season. not pounding this game either way, but i think it screams denver or no play.

Isn&#x27;t the line a market driven number - approximately the same amount bet on both sides (give or take in-week adjustments).  &#xD;&#xA;For the first time in my life I lost betting footbally last year (10 years of betting) because I started playing conspiracy head games.  Going with what I like and ignoring everything else.

Pitt is the pick. Dixon will get a lot of playing time and that is good for Pitt because he is better than Leftwitch. Orton and Quinn suck and Tebow is hurt. If Tebow plays I would take Denver but its not looking like he will.
