This isn't for the faint of heart, and I have heard the money management lecture many times. But I'm taking a big risk and letting it ride this weekend with these plays.
New England -13 (with a bit at 13.5) for a total of 17 units
Roughly 35% of my bankroll is going on the Pats this Saturday. I could go on for ages with me resoning for this one but here's a top ten list of reasons to be the Patriots Saturday night:
1. Divisional round dominated by home teams - beacuse of rest and public overreaction to a team that played well the week before.
2. Jax secondary looks very "holy" to me. Pittsburgh had receivers open. Wide open at many times during this game. If Ward and Santonio are getting wide open, what do you think Brady and Moss will be doing?
3. Jacksonville not made to come from behind. They haven't come back from a seven point defecit at any point during the regular season.
4. Garrard doesn't have playoff experience. If you force him into passing situations, it is going to get ugly.
5. Jags playing their 4th road game in 5 weeks. If this occured during the regular season, just on scheduling alone, you wouldn't bet a team in this spot.
6. Belichik vs. Del Rio. Come on, I like Jack - but this isn't even up for debate is it?
7. Pats record coming off a bye week. Look it up. Its disgusting.
8. Public playing Jax, but line was bet up fast after opening.
9. Warm weather team playing in 30 degree temps in Jan.
10. Tom Brady and Randy Moss.
Ok, so now for plan B. I've already locked in 5 units on the Colts at -9 +100, and if this play above loses, I'll be throwing another 25 units, or most of what's left of my bankroll on this play. I like the Colts in this spot and will never back Norv Turner on the road. Harrison coming back, and a QB like Rivers on the road, playing from behind. Ewwwwww...
Anyhow, I'm sure I'll get flamed from people preaching money mgmt, but I don't be baskets and bases are a long way off. No matter who the matchup is in the Championship games or the SB, I couldn't possibly like it more than these two. Its all or nothing for me on these two this weekend.
Wish me luck.
