Delanie Walker is done for the season. Marcus Mariota is banged up with an elbow injury and isn't even a lock to play Sunday. LT Taylor Lewan will most likely miss the game. Will Fuller who was a scratch vs the Patriots is projected to play. Lines finally came out this morning - The Texans are 1 point favorites. Easy money? What am I overlooking here boys?
While you have touched on some obvious factors here, the Titans were a surprisingly under-the-radar formidable team at home in 2017. Especially towards the end of the season. Dr. John will quite possibly be releasing a play on this game once Mariota is a certainty. Based upon the numbers alone, there is likely some value with the home dog.

Mariota looks like he's gonna play. Back to back road games for Texans to begin the season, there's a ridiculous stat out there about how awful the road team plays in their 2nd road game to begin the season. I don't know the # exactly but the % of home teams that cover in this situation is upwards of 75% of the time. Tread lightly everybody and their mother will be laying the 2pts here as it looks like a gift line.

It's -2 now and Mariota is playing (this is why the line wasn't released until now) but I still thought the same thing the moment I saw this line. Don't think the Titan's have much going for them but then again it's the NFL..

Try to avoid the concept of easy money. It is just perception on your part. Every week, there will be a few easy games to pick and a few hard games to pick (usually). In week 1 of this season, the Saints were supposed to win easy over the Bucs. Even non gamblers had the Saints in their survivor pool as the most used pick. Last year the Chiefs were supposed to win easily over the lowly Giants. For some reason at the same time the Chiefs forgot how to play football and the Giants played well.
Now as my suggestion on how to handicap this game is the following. Start your lean with who you think the better football team or who has the better potential to win. My observation is both teams are average but the Titans have downside while the Texans have upside. This is just my opinion based on the eyeball test. There is fact and there is belief. My belief is Watson for the Texans will soon return to his dynamite form of last year. During week 2, there are always teams who play the reverse of their performance level from week 1. Something like in baseball, where the player starts performing like his baseball card.
I would like towards the Texans, considering the injury factor for the Titans. This is also basically a pickem game. With the line, the winner will probably cover. So go with who you think will win the game.
