First off in terms of competition. AFC is wide open. I don't trust Bengals during January and the Patriots are all battered up. With that being said I don't think the kid running Broncos will get it done either. You have two situations that contradicts each other. The Chiefs at +900 is ridiculously good value considering how good they're playing on defense and even offense (shocker?!?). They're able to score and move the ball but the only thing that concerns me is that the conservative play calling of Andy Reid will eventually be the end of this miracle turn around season. Their defense is legit though, top of the league legit, and that usually holds true come playoff time. The Steelers are actually lesser value but because of their dominate offense I think they can beat anyone. Their defense has stepped up in the last couple weeks (noted vs mediocre/bad teams and second string 40 y/o QBs) I can see this a magical run if they can sneak into playoffs.
I'm not a believer of Bills or Jets or Texans this year making the wildcard so I think both of these teams will manage to get in.
Thoughts? If Steelers beat Bengals I expect that +500 to drop another 100 or so and for Chiefs to be taken seriously and to be at +400-500 as well when playoff starts.

I would look at Steelers before Chiefs. Justin Houston being out really hurts their pass rush. They had to start blitzing to get pressure on Carr last week and weren't all that stout vs the run. Against SB caliber QB's blitzing leaves your DB's exposed.
Steelers don't have the best the defense but they stop the run effectively and hit hard. They also gave more playing time to Bacari Rambo in the Colts game and he stepped up relieving some of the pressure and fatigue issues that caught up with them vs SEA. Their offense can keep them in any game vs any opponent and they have a SB QB and HC even tho Tomlin leave's me shaking my head w/ some of his decision making at times.

I will wait one week. As of this moment Steelers are still out of the playoff week (seriously?!?!?). But if they beat Bengals, while the value should go down I can easily see them remaining out of the wildcard if the current 5 and 6 teams win. Thanks for talking me out of the Chiefs though. As fun as it would be to watch Alex Smith go home and beat Team XYZ at Levis, that's more of a fan fiction than it is a possibility.

for sure save your money and dont take the chiefs, they will not be able to win it all for sure. So if you really want to take one of those i would only take steelers.

You're a few weeks too late my friend. I've been putting future money on the steelers to win it all at different points throughout the season at +2480, 2688 and +4738 just a few weeks ago when Ben was hurt. No value left at this point.
Also got Arizona a couple times at +2851 and +1351

I don't play futures but I am loving the Steelers to make it there. It could potentially be another Steelers vs Cardinals rematch?
This is the matchup I've been envisioning as I was putting my future bets in over the last couple months. With all the action I've got on these two teams at these nice odds I'd be guaranteed a ton of profit, not to mention it would be a great game with tons of fireworks all night long!!

I got the Steelers to win the AFC Championship at +850 and the Superbowl at +2,800 on October 1st. Read somewhere a stat about the Steelers last two SB victories coming during a Ben injury and return and couldn't resist. My line now has them at +850 for Superbowl and +450 for AFC, so guess we'll see how things play out.

Also got Clemson at +2511 to win the championship but I'm not very confident in that anymore after Michigan st jumped Oklahoma in the rankings, now they've got a very tough matchup against Oklahoma just to get to the big game. It does however give me some good hedge opportunities potentially...

Personally I don't think it's too late. Even at +500; it's a good value come playoff time. What am I going to do? Bet Steelers ATS throughout? I'm more likely to cash in on the Steelers Superbowl Run vs ATS playoff action. And if I see a match up I don't like I can still hedge and bet against the Steelers.
I don't like the Cardinals as much as I do the Steelers... why? Because the Seahawks are balling now and still waiting to get healthy and the Panthers has something to prove in not being a fluke. BOL on that tho. It's a 3 horse race in the NFC. Can't really rule out Packers yet if they can get healthy... IF.

I highly doubt carolina even makes it to the super bowl, let alone wins it. Yes they're playing good but they've yet to really be tested by anyone who bears down on defense aside from the Seattle game (which I admit was an impressive road win), although that was when Seattle was slumping and hadn't yet found their stride. I've watched many Carolina games (like vs the saints this past week) where it seems like there's no defense even on the field! Even with home field advantage I think it's gonna be tough for them to match up with a team like Arizona with so many weapons. Josh Norman can only be in one place at a time, and look what the saints were able to do to them last week, if the saints played any defense that would have been an easy win for new Orleans.
Personally I love the cardinals chances of winning it all this year, and Pittsburg is a scary team as well if they can get in and get on a roll

Last night I took +6600 Steelers/Seahawks Super Bowl, think the steelers get big wins next 2 games to put them in great shape and Seahawks finding form for a good run at the right time

Chiefs a much greater chance than Pitt to do anything this season. Don't get caught up in last week so easily. The Steeler defense is worse than bad and that offense will run out of gas or sustain a major injury by season's end. I believe the Bungles put them in their place Sunday.

The Cardinal love is hilarious too. Look who they've defeated and how they've defeated most of them. I put them 3rd on their very best day in the sad NFC.

if either team makes the playoffs the will be dogs in every game , forget futures and play ml every game and roll over your winnings , you'll end up with way more than w.e the futures are paying out
Exactly why I don't play futures. Play the hot team going in and bank on spread and ml plays. Futures are super risky, hence the payouts, but you have to wait months to get paid
