At fist I was leaning toward the ,,,  "Yea,,   i got spanked with a ruler when I was young,,,  more kids today could use it. "        But then I saw the pics that are supposedly a week after it happend, and you know it's is a 4 year old,  plus there are supposedly some of the kids back where the flesh is ripped open...     FN disgusting,,,  just fn disgusting.

According to police reports, the child, however, had a slightly different story, telling authorities that “Daddy Peterson hit me on my face.” The child also expressed worry that Peterson would punch him in the face if the child reported the incident to authorities. He also said that he had been hit by a belt and that “there are a lot of belts in Daddy's closet.” He added that Peterson put leaves in his mouth when he was being hit with the switch while his pants were down. The child told his mother that Peterson “likes belts and switches” and “has a whooping room

It's one thing to spank a kid, which I don't even condone.  But, it's another thing to beat the hell out of your kid to the point where he has major lacerations and is bleeding like that.  And by no means should you ever go near your kid's scrotum.  No excuse whatsoever.

To me it just sounds like he used the wrong type of device to punish his children. A belt doesn't typically inflict gash wounds or deep bruising unless you use the metal side too hard. The punishments may have been slightly excessive but until we see the actuals wounds no one should jump to conclusions about how bad or good a father AP is. Most likely its a case of going over board on a few blows and not using the right device and nothing more. As far as i know it is not illegal to hit your children with a belt when they do something wrong. In fact being hit with the belt as a kid is probably one of the best things that had ever happened to me.

WELL now that i see some of the pics of the wounds it definitely looks excessive. A tree branch is too coarse to not cause flesh wounds. He's got his work cut out for him here

Jesus Christ, now we have to go ANOTHER week of the media talking about shitt that has nothing to do with the games. 

Why can't we let the justice system handle it and withhold judgment? And in the meantime move on, and talk about things that actually matter, like the Patriots' offensive line issues, instead of fuckking gossip. Like some pusssies.

And it's funny that people act so surprised when they find out that their favorite football player beat someone up, killed someone, etc. These fuckkers are violent, the fuckk you think? If you want this shitt to stop, then boycott football and support tennis or some shitt. As long as football exists, football players are going to be laying the wood to whoever gets in their way -- Joe, Bobbi Sue, their family, their friends, their fuckking dog. If you don't like it you have the wrong favorite sport, period.

I just seen the pictures of AP son's marks from the whooping. I have to admit they look a bit excessive especially for a 4 year old to take. If his son was 12 or 13 I could understand but a 4 year old I think AP went a bit overboard and he realizes it. I got beat pretty bad when I was little but not at 4 years of age.

Issues like these actually matter in real life.  Football is just a game.  You can't let players play this game if they're involved in beating women or children.  It just can't happen.  Don't watch ESPN or other sports networks if you don't want to hear about this stuff.  They have to talk about it, especially when some of the biggest stars in the game (AP, Ray Rice) are involved in these types of behaviors.

Just because "you" got beat as a child, doesn't mean it's right and doesn't mean it should be the norm.

I'm sure you didn't want to get beaten when you were a child.

It's poor parenting and it's lazy.  If you can't interact with your child like he or she is a real human being, you shouldn't have kids in the first place.

Grow the fuckk up and stop hitting your kids.

Right, it's just a game. So, they should be allowed to walk the streets, catch a cab, go and sit down in a restaurant, but not play a game? If what they did is so bad, then they should be in jail. And the way that works is, as long as you don't have a court date or you're not on the bunk below Bubba Joe, you get to go to work and spend time doing something productive. At least that's the way it should work, because we all know that people who don't work are only MORE likely to commit crimes.

There is no way to keep abusers and assaulters off the football field. Probably 25% of the fuckkers who will uit up on Sunday fall into one of those categories. It's just that we don't have proof of who is who. Violence off the field goes hand in hand with the game of football. Always has, always will. So it's hypocritical and delusional to look at the game of football and act like it's not played by a bunch of violent psychos. It would be like being a huge figure skating fan and saying "we just can't let gays in our sport." If you don't want gays in figure skating, you can't be a fan of figure skating. And if you don't want violent psychos in football, you can't like football and not be pulling the wool over your own eyes.

If someone at your workplace was accused of beating a woman or a child, they would still be employed?  Doubt it.

It is a privilege to play in the NFL.  It is a company.  Suspend or kick out any player that beats a woman or child.

Why shouldn't someone who is deemed safe to be out on the streets not be able to be employed? How are they going to do any more damage at work than in their personal lives? Look at where all these crimes take place. 99% of the time it is AWAY from the workplace.

And please don't act like the NFL's goal is to do the right thing. They sweep shitt under the rug, and only when the information sees the light of day do they scatter like cockroaches when the lights come on at McDonald's and try to figure out a way to rid themselves of the bad PR. It's not about what's right, it's about appeasing middle America who wants everyone they root for to be good little fuckking Christians and fuckking choir boys. What the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson situations have reminded me is if it wasn't for sports, many of these guys would be slinging crack rock to get by. It's always a great reminder we're rooting on animal and child abusers, rapists, racists, murderers, drunks, druggies etc..
