Was his name Robert Saleh?
It's interesting to me that there was so much belief in the Jets with a 40 year old QB coming off of a serious injury. Father time catches up to all of us. On the outside looking in there seems to be a perception that Rodgers can be a difficult personality and what he says carries extra weight. TBH I'm tired of Rodgers and the Jets.

Since 2021, the Jets D has given up 17.3 ppg. That's #1 over that span.
Saleh was a defensive guy, it was his thing and he did it well. Maybe he wasn't that great delegating as a HC, I don't know.
He tried like hell I thought, to get the offense right with the coaches he brought in. He even caterer to Rodgers by bringing in Nathaniel Hackett.
So was it a good idea to fire him after 2-3, and name the DC(Jeff Ulbrich) the interim coach? I mean what did Ulbrich even do while Saleh was there? Now this dude has to play HC?

Matt Eberflus was 10-17 after 2 seasons. A defensive guy and part of a massive rebuild. The Bears fired their OC after 2 years because "that" side of the team wasn't trending the right way.
If you ask me, Woody was trigger happy. And this firing was impulsive. You have to know the inner workings of your team and coaches. Solve the right problems.
But hey, he still has Hackett and Rodgers. Maybe they'll start out scoring everyone moving forward.

Hail Mary's giving you confidence?
The Bills are a really good 2H team, we'll see.
Shit I don't even have a bet on this game, just wanted to point out how shitty the Jets as an organization have been, and for so long. It's gotta be tough to be a fan of theirs.

I see an aging superstar trying to earn hero status in NY but his team is mediocre imho and that’s not going to get it done even with Adams. It is funny probably but not for Jets fans.

Instead of Saleh getting a functional franchise QB, he got an injury prone, selfish, and self centered, drama queen who is at the end of his career.
There is no question that Saleh built an elite defense with the Jets. There are players on that D that would have run through walls for Saleh and now that he is gone, too soon to see if that same zeal will deteriorate. I have a feeling it will eventually.
The first of the Jets' quarterback blunders during Saleh's tenure was drafting Zach Wilson who was thrown into the deep end of the pool far too early as a rook IMO. Then the owner signed off on an old war horse ready for the glue factory. IMO owners set the tone for any team and those that lack wisdom like Woody Johnson and Haslam at Cleveland doom their teams by making foolish moves.
For me Rodgers is like Arod, great performers in the regular season but they sucked a$$ in the post season. Rodgers' won the one Superbowl and I give him credit for that at least. I was puzzled that the Jets demoted Hackett, (he sucked a$$ too)but doesn't that make a case that Saleh's instincts were right about the identity of the real Numbnuts in the woodpile?
I thought Saleh's firing was unfortunate for the team as a whole going forward but it points up the undue influence of a whining ex superstar on a starstruck owner. It is a marriage made in hell and I am betting this Jets' house of cards will fall sooner than later. Now it is onto Pittsburgh for these Jets and center stage on Sunday night.

It was my understanding that Saleh was ready to fire Nathaniel Hackett after the Vikings game in London.
Instead Woody stepped in, and fired Saleh. Strangely enough, interim coach Ulbrich only demotes Hackett...
You can't tell me that Rodgers is pulling some serious weight here when it comes to personal decisions. Not only did they bring in Lazard last year, but also a washed up Randall Cobb who had 5 receptions all year.
Now Davanta Adams is reunited again.
Fuckin weird. It's like when Dwayne Wade, LeBron and Bosh turned the Heat to instant contenders. I don't see it working out in the nfl.

Also, Saleh's resume speaks for itself. His D with the Niners before coming to NY was outstanding.
If I'm any team in need of a D coordinator, I'm on the phone asap.

Saleh downfall was he didn't hire a competent staff around him.
Only 1 coach remains from year 1.
they are short 9 coaches when compared to the Chiefs
