    I still cannot believe what I saw last night. It was like KOC didn't learn a single thing from the disaster vs the Lions. Nor did Statue Sam learn anything either.  Believe it or not the dude can scramble. Why he didn't I will never know. It was like he was an old boxer that got hit one too many times. It was awful. Plain and simple AWFUL!

    I will say that once again the refs find a way to fuck the Vikings. That was either a fumble and a TD or it was an intentional grounding (they got rid of in the grasp calls a few years ago). You cannot have it both ways. Allow a QB to literally flick the ball away as he is being pulled to the ground not even being able to see where his target is at and praying that this target is within 5 yards of that flick on one hand but then on the other hand call unnecessary roughness on a defender for wrapping up and driving him to the ground with your weight so that he cannot flick the ball. PICK A LANE! Always will hate when there are inconsistencies and that definitely was a big play. Could it have changed the outcome? Well it would have been 10-10 but not if Darnold played the way he did the rest of the game no it would not have. That being said big plays like that have all season for the Vikings and do in football change the complexion of the game. So who really knows.

    What a disgusting way to end a season. The last two games. Hopefully JJ is all that and a bag of chips. Guess we will see.

    They should fire Darnold and their head coach.

    @unplucked_gem

    It is a fair question. I will hazard an answer. Owners honestly don't care. With a 14-3 season they are still making money hand over fist. Would they like to win a Superbowl, sure. Will they sacrifice everything to win one, most won't. Being an NFL owner is a life we cannot imagine. It is the ultimate boys club. Access to all the best of everything. Treated to a life of luxury that is immeasurable. Knowing that their investment is going to double, triple, quadruple in a decade or less, while still enjoying all the fruits the league has to offer. They frankly don't care. The GM does what the owner wants, or he doesn't have a job. There are a lot more idiot head coaches in the NFL than brilliant ones. Sean McVay is a brilliant coach. There are few like him. KOC is from the McVay coaching tree, except he hit some of the dumbass branches on the way down. There are not many better options to replace him with. You going with Flores? He has proven not to work as a head coach. Who are the hot assistants worth getting? Everyone knows the NFL recycles coaches and steals the hot assistants. No he isn't going anywhere for the reasons I said. Just my opinion. But you are not wrong about him. When he was giving the Gruden snarl look last night I was like WTF KOC is that what you were doing when you should be watching film and adjusting your awful gameplan?

    As a Lions fan, I thought for sure Minnesota would play a better game than last Monday. Then again, they couldn't do new_poop against a D-Line that should've been on the sidelines watching. So I'm not really surprised. Also the Rams were healthy. They missed a lot of starters the first 4 or 5 weeks of the season.

    I refuse to belong to any organization that will have me as a member.

    Exactly what jesron said. Really nice financial implications for losing. It's the good ol Boys club in the nfl. Get relegation and things change dramatically.  Oh wait, that will never happen. The nfl sucks!

    The game was lost for many reasons.

    1. Start Danny Dimes in the 2nd half he can run the ball.

    2. Compleate clock mismanagement. Every play in the 2nd half the ball should have been in play within 10 seconds.

    3. The head coach should know at the 40 min mark the team is not playing vs. the Rams. They are playing vs. the time left in the game.

    4. I found it funny that the announcer stated Danny was QB3. I guess the QB2 is J.J.

    5. To many dropped passes by 2 elite receivers.

    Just a really surprizing game for a team that won 14 games. The Rams played better and deserved to win. Although with all that has been said in this thread the outcome should have been much closer.

    Maybe the NFC north and especially the NFC is just weaker. I know the NFC South is a trash can compared to the whole league. In fact I will say the AFC will win the super bowl. The only way the game stays close is if the refs keep it close.

    The trend lives on. Teams who play the Lions do poorly the very next game.

    To your point, it's a copy cat league.  Once someone finds a way to beat you, the next opponents tend to use the same strategies until you adjust and beat it.  Rams brought the same pressure the lions did, and the vikings didn't adjust at all.  I don't know why the vikings refuse to run the ball.  There was one sequence where the purple ran for a dozen, then the next play ran for 7 more.  I was looking at the screen and said "I dare you to run again"... instead sam ran play action, turned his back to fake, turned around right into an untouched blitzer, and took about a 12 yard loss.  They went from 2nd and 3, to 3rd and 15, and took themselves right out of the drive.  I think it was 10-3 at that point.  Maybe 17-3.  But either way, when they showed the replay from the backside of the QB, if he actually hands off, there is a hole up the middle.  You just gashed them for 12 and 7, and Sam is having another shaky night, why not continue to run there?

    When it was 17-3, the vikings had the ball with 2:39 left.  I texted my group, that the vikings cannot afford to give the ball back to the rams.  Whatever they do on this drive, they have to eat the clock.  So run, and bring it down to the 2 min warning, but then run a couple more times, and get it under a minute, before doing anything more.  You HAVE to eat clock, and prevent anymore damage.  Sam is rattled after giving up the fumble return for 6.  You're still in the game, even if it's 17-3 at half time, as you get the ball in the 2nd half.  However, they throw an incompletion in there, force a 4th and 2, which to that point, the Vikings looked very shaky trying convert any short yardage situation.  It was a bad decision.  24-3 ended the game.  Just do damage control, and get into the half.

    KOC had to know, that the Rams were going to bring the heat like the lions, until Sam could prove he can beat the blitz.  Sam couldn't the week before, and KOC made ZERO adjustments to their attack plan.  I would have been very tempted to run the football, and try to win like IOWA, with defense, and just play field position.  Try to win the game 13-10 going in.  Sam seemed rattled against the Lions.  Take him out of the equation.  Run the ball, shorten the game, hope your defense can get a couple turnovers.

    I'm so sick of the Purple under-performing in big games.

    @anal_yzer

    KOC clearly isn't a coach that adjusts his game plan in game. He never deviated from Bradford during the season when he didn't have it or in the post season. I don't know why you bring in the cancer that is Danny Dimes unless you plan on using him this year or next. If it is this year let him share some snaps with Bradford. He would have made a much better red zone thread then Bradford. If it is for next year way to get in the head of an already mental midgit QB that we are replacing you next year before the season is even over. The talking heads love to give Kewzie sooooo much credit. But god damn he makes a lot of misses too. Brining in Danny Dimes was one of them. Don't even get me started passing on Hamilton for Kline.

    Things didn't go their way in the 1st half and they made a few critical mistakes.  Looked as if they completely quit in the 2nd half and wanted to go home and start their offseason ASAP.  I think Detroit destroyed their morale the previous week.

    @jesron1269

    I still can’t believe they called that no fumble. I have watched that over and over that ball wasn’t thrown out of Staffords hand he lost the ball it was a fumble. They got screwed both games vs the Rams going back to the obvious face mask missed by the whole crew in the end zone. That being said not sure what the game looks like if they tie the game at 10 on that fumble. We will never know which does suck for us Viking fans.

    Uh, maybe Minnesota was perhaps the most overrated team in NFL history?

    Vikings weren't even a Cinderella story.  This was a story of a pig who got dolled up at a back woods bar and still couldn't go home with a passed out trucker at 3am.
