ATL vs BALT: Let's Analyze the Line

both teams have the same record, but atl obviously plays better at home. so why is the line only atl -1? is it because Baltimore is a "name brand" team or do the bookmakers really think that Balt is a better team or do they want the public to take Balt? people know baltimore's team a lot more than they know atlanta. thoughts?

I think your pretty dead on here... I thought before the game came out that the line should be ATL-3 and whichever team was catching value against that number would be the play... so ATL -1 has the value in my opinion, but for me this game is the classic no play...

I love the Ravens here and it's usually ATL or no play for me since they are a solid team, especially at home.

Yeah Matt Ryan is 15:1 or 11:1 or whatever at home but I'm pretty confident he adds another L to his stats here..

I think you are ove ranalyzing this line and thinking too much about it, and if so, don't bet the game. The line is pretty spot on, considering both teams are 6-2, short week for Baltimore to travel, and Falcons haven't lost at home.

I honestly don't think the short week will affect Baltimore anymore than it will affect Atlanta. It is not a long trip, extra practice will not make Baltimore win or lose the game. Joe Flacco since week 3 is the most efficient QB in the NFL and I am saying this because the NFL is made up of recent history. There will be playoff caliber teams in the final weeks that were not in the early weeks, and I don't know how you can trust the Falcons defense (26th pass D in the league) in this one. Atlanta backers better hope Roddy White is healthy in this one because having him on the field healthy will create more opportunities for the run and openings for the other recievers.

the ravens did hold brandon marshall to 30 yards.. cant even understand how but they did. I would think Roddy White would eat that secondary alive but it depends on if he&#x27;s healthy and who wins the battle at the line

guys, i had ravens -2.5, look they play in afc which is the superior confrence , with better competition, falcons are good nfc team, but against afc competiton, i have to say ravens better team here,not saying this game wont be contested,cause i look for both teams to run the ball and play smash mouth football,turnovers and special teams very important in this game, i&#x27;m lookin for a very close game here, but as of right now i think play is under 43.5 ,last 10 games between 2 has all gone under, i liked under before i noticed that, i know both teams can score ,but with ravens traveling on a short week, i like them to play ball control and defense, both teams not really much practice time points to under

Probably a pass.&#xD;&#xA;Only angle I really see is that Baltimore has been a perfect 4-0 this year against teams that are power running squads.&#xD;&#xA;-  @NYJ 10-9-  Cleveland 24-17-  @ Pitt 17-14-  Miami 26-10&#xD;&#xA;So it seems like they excel in grinding out those tough games against physical squads.  &#xD;&#xA;BUT I absolutely HATE betting Joe Flacco on the road.  His numbers the last couple of years have been putrid.&#xD;&#xA;Probably gonna pass.

ATL -1 is definitely a value bet because of BAL's reputation. Ironically, that reputation is based on their defense which is outclassed by ATL's defense this year.

Point spread value, home field, solid D, offense getting hot... lots of reasons to like ATL. The Ravens will win a bunch of games this year, but this probably won't be one of them.

Falcon hung with the Steelers on the road earlier in the year and since they are 10x better at home I like ATL -1...Throw in the facts that it is a short week where Balt has to travel(Ray Lewis was bitching about this this week so it is definitely a factor) and Roddy is expected to be fine I really like the home team in what is basically a pick&#x27;em game.
