I just got back to pittsburgh from the loss last night in baltimore. A couple things that i noticed at the game were:

    1) after the game, the fans acted like they had just won the super bowl. They were screeeeaming and yelling like crazy. There is something to be said for being excited. BUT if it were at heinz field, and the steelers had just beaten the ravens with their 3rd string QB by 3 pts in overtime, i probably would be thinking to myself "maybe we arent that good either"

    2) They have no idea of the rules of football. One fan was irate at Harbaugh for not throwing the challange flag in overtime. For anyone from baltimore reading this... challanges come from the booth in overtime... this has been the rule since relpay was instituted...

    3) learn the rules people... obviously penalties are called probably more than they should have been. But calling a blatent pick on a defensive back IS in fact offensive pass interference. That is the rule... dont be upset because the refs didnt decide to cheat and turn away.

    4) i sold my terrible towel to a drunk ravens fan for 50 dollars. I dont care if they were gonna piss on it or whatever... a 42 dollar profit on a piece of cloth is a good deal. especially when you have more at home.

That is a funny response to fans being stupid... but in all reality, i would be stupid to believe that we would win that game. i would like to think that i know more about football than to say that we had a shot with 3rd string QB. so 1 of 2 things occurred... 1) Dixon is really good and should be a starter or 2) winning by 3 points in OT at home against Dixon really isnt that much of an accomplishment. The rationality in me says that number 2 is correct

Well I was not at the game... I watched it and I picked the Ravens to win by DD... I am very disappointed in the Ravens performance and after watching that its a LOCK THAT THE RAVENS WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. But seriously did you expect fans to not be happy to beat their #1 Rival?

I live in MD, but as you can see, I am no Ravens fan..you can say what you want about 3rd string qb and this and that, and you are probably right..however, the bottom line is, the hatred between those 2 teams and fans is REAL...so a win, regardless of how it came about, is all that really matters..you play to win the game..

1 minute you say Dixon is a really good qb then the next minute you say winning by 3 points against a team with him as qb is not anything to get happy about? just swallow your loss you got beat by the better team, what about Suggs injury???? all the defensive backs were missing............your defense could of shut us out but they didnt they got torched by the deep ball last night, ike taylor is mediocre at best.

1 minute you say Dixon is a really good qb then the next minute you say winning by 3 points against a team with him as qb is not anything to get happy about? just swallow your loss you got beat by the better team, what about Suggs injury???? all the defensive backs were missing............your defense could of shut us out but they didnt they got torched by the deep ball last night, ike taylor is mediocre at best.

    every team has stupid fans.

I was there last night and 3 steeler fans were sitting in front of me. They knew absolutely nothing about football. Just liked waving the towel

It was a guy and two females(I think, hard to tell the difference between men and women from pittsburgh). Reason they don't have cheerleaders.

They were typical bandwagon fans, the guy had on a superbowl 40 hat with an "Obama loves the steelers button" all while drinking a coffee. lol.

They left before half-time because they said Baltimore fans are too mean, lol.

How much did you pay for your ticket anyway?

guys... i understand that its a heated rivalry... i get it... trust me... but what i am saying is that (in december) when im at heinz watching the game, if troy smith is playing QB and we squeak out a win in OT, i (personally) am not walking down the ramp saying that the steelers are the best team in the nfl and honking my horn when i get outside.

Certainly not a sore loser as i took the ravens at +3 early in the week. I did not think that we were going to win... as a matter of fact i wrote in a post on saturday that i thought it was gonna be 27-10 ravens. i would like to think that i am not the typical "yinzer" pittsburgh fan and that i know a thing or two... but what do i know...

i paid 200 for the ticket in september when they first came out... my buddy bought one outside the stadium for 100 prior to kickoff though.

It was a tough loss to take knowing we were so close. The Baltimore fans do have a reason to cheer because it is such a fierce rivalry, obviously the fans are going to be estatic for beating them for the first time in a couple years. But like Wakko4flacco stated if your a die hard ravens fan you can't help but think that the playoffs are a long shot if they have trouble beating Pitt at home with the injuries the steelers had. But I know injuries are a part of football so no excuses, and none the less a great game to watch.

Don't kid yourself.  They know the rules.  Refs usually don't make bad calls.  They make wrong calls.....................for a reason.
