Bait.....yep....bait. Imo we have some bait in this game! What do I mean? Is this Philly team anywhere close to where they were as a team last year? If you ask people in here, they feel they are because of.....Nick Foles. Wow....one guy folks. Is Foles a surprise anymore? Has he all the sudden developed mobility to run for first downs and prolong plays? What about their run game this year? Anywhere close to last year’s attack? They don’t have Blount who can pound. Is Sproles gonna outshine Sproles 2.0 in Cohen?! Valid questions that many are overlooking especially when you hear the words “the super bowl champs are getting 6, sign me up”......Oh boy.
All I keep hearing about is Foles vs Trubisky and I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. Why? I like Foles but last year was last year. Foles is still immobile and when you throw in an offensive line that isn’t healthy and will have their hands full come Sunday, what’s the out here? They gonna try and run the ball? Against the front 7 of the Bears who by the way are number ONE in stopping it? Ertz is an animal yet do the Bears neutralize that in making the Eagles keep a tight end to chip Floyd and Mack? Peters, if he plays is washed up so is the backup gonna be blocking the front of the Bears? What about Hicks in the middle? What about the linebackers who imo are just as good as any in this league. Alshon Jeffrey gonna beat the Bears one on one on the outside? Fuller familiar with Alshon from the Chicago days? What about Golden Tate who the Bears know very well? I do like him and truly feel he is gonna be the key Sunday if Foles is to play well. Where on offense will the Eagles scare the Bears defense? Nagy and Dougy know each other well from coaching together and I feel Dougy will have to really draw up some crazy schemes going up against a Bears team at home.
See for me, every plus for the Eagles on offense gets swallowed up by the fact that the Bears secondary gets turnovers and is protected outside and inside. If Eddie Jackson is healthy....oh boy. Callahan our? That’s ok we got McManus. Our d line is light years better than that Philly offensive line as well and to think that Fangio won’t exploit a weaker Philly offense; that’s nuts! I like our coaches better than Phillys as well. Fangio better than the skunk, Nagy and Dougy right there but I give Dougy the edge die to the ring, our o line coach, lightvyears better.....I will be the first one to tell you that I don’t go backwards in resting my thoughts and picks on previous games but look at what the Bears have done to offenses with true weapons. They made the Rams look silly and twice, they made the offense of the Vikings look pathetic. Arguably the best tandem receivers in the league and the Bears shut them down. If anybody wants to talk about the Giants and Dolphins games I can point to any team in this league that either had hiccups or let ganes get away so stop please. It was clearly evident that in the way the Bears approached last Sunday that THEY WANTED PHILLY. They got em! Cousins doesn’t move outside the pocket; Foles doesn’t either. Vikings receivers and Rams receivers waaaay better than the Eagles yet the Bears won’t be prepared here? Come on. Better run games in LA and Minnesota yet those were shut down.....
I haven’t even talked about the Bears offense here and what many feel to be the weak link of the Bears, Trubisky, I think he plays very well Sunday. See the Bears have been down this road before with having great defenses but quarterbacks who turn the ball over. Trubisky has had his moments but the difference here in the regime is that he has the right coaches to put him in the right situations to excel. I think we see this Sunday. How? The Philly secondary is dogsh@t and you can bet that Nagy is licking his lips over film knowing where he can get the matchups he wants. You can argue that the MVP of this team is the offensive line of the Bears. Question: who has the better defensive front? Rams or Philly? Well....the Rams did nothing against the Bears and I don’t expect the Eagles d line to do anything different. The Bears will be able to run and they’ll be able to pass. Nobody can argue this. Throw in Trubiskys wheels here and I firmly believe we could see a monster game by him. Remember the Kapernick game against the Packers in the playoffs where he ran for over 140 yards and demolished that Packers defense? Nobody saw that coming and imo Trubisky is more of a threat in both passing and running given his size and weapons that will allow him the room against a weak Philly defense. People are low on Trubisky and much like Foles LAST YEAR, this kid could surprise. But for Mitch, all it will take is to be efficient and take care of the ball.....of this kid does this, it could be a historic run here for the Bears....COULD.
Yes I’m a Chicago fan; yes I live in Chicago but this game more than any other game this week stands out. I see a “has been” team who is injured and will not surprise anyone this year in the Eagles. But because of what happened last year people are mesmerized by Foles and the aura that the Eagles created after last year’s Cinderella run. I see a lot of last year’s Eagles team in this year’s Bears team. My only worry in this game is Cody in our kicking game. He’s definitely a liability. I also worry that Nagy at times can get too cute in short yardage situations. Even with that, I don’t see the Eagles being able to play 60 minute football against maybe the MOST COMPLETE TEAM in the playoffs. Yeah I said it. One may say these are homer comments and analysis yet I don’t think anybody who knows football and has watched both these teams this year can argue the points I’ve mebtioned above. This is the playoffs and being able to run, being able to stop the run and turnovers rule. Chicago has the advantage in all areas and when you throw in the fact that game will be played in Chicago in front of our fans where we went 7-1.....this could get ugly Sunday. Thoughts and insight welcomed even from the trolls.
