or how about the holding call in the endzone that caused a safety, the C was ran completely over and they call holding
It was quite a take-down.........the epitome of holding.
I'd say the roughing call was probably the worst...............but I got a kick out of the ref throwing a flag on a DB a full 3 seconds after he made sure that Fitz had the reception in the 4th qtr............sort of a " let's make it look like we're calling it even" flag.

the personal foul on arizona was terrible....how do u make a crucial call like that in such a big game??...get prepared though, because now u have NBA every night and that is much, much worse.

It was pretty even as both teams were penalized equally..Pittsburgh had 2 or three calls go against them on big plays...Now whether or not the penalities were valid was another question...But, the calls were even

I strongly disagree. Without a doubt Pittsburgh got
the benefit of nearly every official call. There is the two bad calls
(albiet the first I could see why the official missed that because that
was close but the second where the ball is cleary out of this hand and
going downfield - hell it got past the line of scrimmage) that forced
AZ to use their instant reviews.
There were so many ticky tack
penalties called on AZ that I could puke. I kept saying boy I wish I
was at the game because knowing Pittsburgh there is just as many
against them but not getting called because frankly Pittsburgh
defenders are some of the dirtiest (next to perhaps Baltimore)
defenders in the NFL. Then low and behold the tv crew finally caught a
guy during the punt trying to take an AZ players head off with punch
after punch. Yep that was after the play my a$$. Instead of first and
ten AZ it backed up Pittsburgh what one yard.
Then there is a
the strange ending to the game where they did not review the last play
that clearly looked like a forward pass (much like the other that got
overturned).
This game is so reminisant of the Superbowl against
the Seahawks with nearly every call going their way. This whole season
I think I only watched one game where it did not appear the calls were
going their way and I told myself that I would either bet with
Pittsburgh or not at all because it almost seemed that they were given
their golden paracute this year.
All that being said, Pitt won
and they are a better team than AZ, but in my opinion just not
yesterday. They did have a very difficult road to get there but so
does every Superbowl participant because those rings are not just given
out. The whole point to this post is that Pitt fans should feel damn
fortunate that they won that game when frankly I think they had no
business winning it based on all the above. But they did win, they are
the Superbowl champs and that is how it is.
Before it is
asked... I was on AZ +15 and over 38 in a teaser. This game was not in
doubt for me once the game went over in the fourth quarter. Just my
opinion after watching this game as neither a Steelers or Cardnials fan.

Harrison should've been thrown out of the game after he punched that guy during the punt. In the end, it only cost the Steelers half a yard. That was disgraceful. Even Madden, who was praising Harrison all game, said that he should be tossed. If it was some no-name special teamer, he would've been gone.

You have a valid point, the calls on Pittsburgh were in crutial times so maybe it appeared to magnify the calls...I will tell you the holding calls on Arizona's line was legit..I was 12 rows from the field and you could clearly see the Oline just raping Harrison and Woodley..In the end, I think the game was amazing as a Super Bowl should be....Pittsburgh dominated the game for 3 quarters then Arizona made a great run in the 4th but came up short..
SIX PACK STEELERS!!!!
What I am sick about is the same people people before the game saying how great Arizona is and praising them, are the same people saying they are shit after the game and the Steelers are the worse SB team in history...Cleary haters

Bunch of winey babies, you wasnt to win a game on a penalty of a guy who scored one of the greatest catches in SB history because he uses ball as prop for 2 seconds and then throws it up in air.. Assshole. but I bet U love Lebron James commercials.
Steelers win deal with it.

It's a shame when the refs have too much impact on the game. Regardless of who you had in this one, there were way too many penalties and way too many non-calls.
All those guys in stripes needed a zanex before kick off to calm their butts down a bit. They reminded me of that rent-a-pig at the mall, just too damned anxious to do something when they should have let them play more.
