Well I need the over 32.5 to cash a 6 game parlay but what are the thoughts of everyone here? I see a lot of battles at several positions for the Bills and the need to adapt to a new D just might expose both teams. Apparantley they are both going to be playing a 3-4 D.
Thoughts are appreciated. Parlay is worth $600, any hedge ideas?

You can cash in for about half of that $600 guaranteed. Without knowing what your original parlay wager was, I can't give you an exact number but essentially you want to win 300 going the other way on the Wash total. So you're probably looking at risking 330.

Well I hear you on being nervous about a pre season over but I see many players battling for starting spots, especially on the Bills. Plus Shanahan would like to show the home town crowd a revived Redskin team and the Bills D isnt anything special. I see a higher scoring 2nd half. If I can get 17-21 points in the first half I think it sails over, if I get 6-13 points on the 1st half it may be tight.

Washington opens their preseason on Friday night hosting Buffalo, as the
Redskins look to rebuild after a disappointing 4-12 SU record during
the 2009 season. Owner Dan Snyder brings in former Broncos Head Coach
Mike Shannahan to revamp the team. You can tell the organization is a
"win now" mode as they have finally given up on the underachieving QB
Jason Campbell while opting to sign veteran Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb.
Along with the signing of QB McNabb, the Redskins made 16 other roster
additions, including RBs Larry Johnson and Willie Parker and WRs Bobby
Wade and Joey Galloway. The Redskins' defense was a solid unit that
ranked 10th overall in yards allowed last season and they bolstered that
unit with 6 new players to add to the acquisition of DT Albert
Haynesworth last year. Expect Buffalo, who was just 3-5 SU on the road
last season, to have a hard time moving the ball on this Redskins
defensive unit. Not only has Buffalo fired their fourth coach since the
2000 season, they'll try and revamp the offense with new Head Coach
Chan Gailey's offensive system. Last year's offense averaged only 16
points per game and ranked 30th in passing yards as they rotated between
QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards. The passing game will only get
worse as they lost leading WR Terrell Owens to the Bengals and now
these 2 young QBs, who both threw more interceptions than touchdowns,
must play their first game in a new system. Both teams in the
rebuilding stages, but Washington is starting from a much better place.

to me, it's a no-brainier - hedge at least the original bet amount. a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. it is preseason after all . . . so if the original bet cost you $50, you still have a chance at making $550 - is that the case?

Buffalo will probably play their starters longer as they have a new offensive and defensive schemes - but the Bills will be missing 3 starters on the OL. Their offensive is still very questionable against a decent Skins defense.
Washington - 3 veteran running backs and Shanny bringing in new zone blocking on the OL - see lots of running after Mcnabb sits after 18 snaps.
Leaning Under.
Take the Hedge and the preseason profits. GL

Mwgriffin it is actually a 6 game parlay that started on Wednesday with 3 mlb games and then Raiders ML and Balt-4. I only put $10 on the parlay assuming that I wouldnt be in this position because we all know how difficult it is to hit a 6 gamer. I may hedge $100 at most but I really like the over as I could see some sack fumbles or pick 6 for a TD which will help the over.

Weather is going to be dismal. Raining heavily in DC area right now.
Vegas upping the total makes me think somehow the Over hits. Can't see how the public would be betting Over with the sorry Washington offense in any game.

if you bet these plays individually and was on the high of going 5-0, would you question your under pick?
Of course not because you would be feeling good and "feeling it" so you would increase your bet appropriately because of your winning and confidence...
But hedging mentality is the opposite... doubt, question, "waiting for the other show to drop"... so based on fear you "play it safe"...
consider what you what your gambling experience to be like on an emotional level...
But take emotion out of it and your most mathematically sound thing to is to let it ride...
The most prudent thing to do is to hedge and hedge big like 40% of your winnings... and you can sit there happily with about $280 in guaranteed money your pocket...
