After posting/losing on that Chargers fiasco, possibly the worst bad beat I've ever had, my nerves about betting were on edge no doubt. 27-0 was one thing but a 5-0 TO advantage and lost defies everything I thought I knew about football and the NFL. But playing the OVER on the Giants/Vikes games restored sum of my gambling "faith." Enuff' said.
4 close finishes past 4 games this weekend and I don't expect anything different tonight. A one score difference late in the 4th quarter is highly likely. Only this time you get a couple QBs who've done this before a few times.
Both teams are fairly healthy, the Bucs as healthy as they've been all year. Vita Vea back, secondary guys back, but the big return is All Pro center Ryan Jensen, after missing all season. When Jim Croce wrote about "Bad Leroy Brown" could have been Jensen instead. Heart, soul, glue, enforcer, he's all that. And with Tristan Wirfs establishing himself as one of the best O-lineman in the game, the Bucs battered O-line suddenly looks different, and I'm certain will play different too. The Bucs will go at Dallas, Fournette and White are capable RBs, forget regular season stats, you can run on the Boyz', 129 ypg allowed. A key matchup tonight.
I watched the Boyz get mangled by WASH last week, it was ugly. Starters played most of the game, I'm sure McCarthy left Dak and company in until they had a good series or two. But they never did. NFL is week to week but a bad time, the week before the playoffs, to look like it's your 1st preseason game. That's a bad taste going OTR to play a Bucs team given new life. In fact their defense hasn't looked good recently and against backup QBs. Howell had never even played before Sunday, and that score could have been alot worse than 26-6.
If Brady hasn't done anything else lately, he's proved he can still make the plays in the 4th quarter and lead to his team to victory, 3 times the past month or so. While Dak is capable, I wonder more about his psyche than I ever will Tom Brady. I don't care how old the guy is, he may not be as skilled as he once was, but fact is, he just knows how to win big games, and his teammates trust him implicitly.
Banking on a likely close game, home team, and yes Tom Brady, I'm backing the dog here, and wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Brady lead the Bucs down the field on a game winning drive.
BUCS +3, -115
As always, Good luck in your plays!
