Lit em up both times he played them. Of course, that was in Cleveland. Bengals struggle in the dawg pound.
He's not gonna do it tonight, but he will have to try because the Texans have an atrocious run game. And a bad defense missing Kareem Jackson. When he was out last year AJ Green had a career high 121 yards. This year they are lighting it up with Eifert and Marvin Jones and Sanu as well. Houston has 1 WR. No run game.
I love that so many dogs covered or won SU yesterday as it is plain to see that has planted the seed of doubt in people's minds, a lot of threads being started by Texans backers, one even suggesting it is similar to the Packer game yesterday, another sayingf they will have a letdown because of the big win over the Browns, or strangest of all, because the Cards are next?? They're in the NFC!
Bengals just got over their primetime jinx, they know a loss here would have people saying same old Bengals even at 8-1. Unlike GB they have not had their bubble burst yet (Packers had lost 2 straight before yesterday). Houston knocked them out of the playoff twice. Motivation is not gonna be an issue on this MNF game. Neither will skill. They outgained Houston by over 100 yards last year and are playing even better this year.
Yes Houston had a bye. But the Bengals have had extra time and no travel. Check their record in the 2nd of back to back home games last 2 years - all wins, usually scoring 30+. While this is big game for Houston as they are only a game back, that's because the AFC South stinks. Teams from this div aren't gonna knock off the top teams in the league. Look at Houston's wins so fasr: TB, Jax and Ten.
Don't let yesterday's results influence you tonight. The Texans stink and Cincinnati's bubble has yet to be burst. I don't think a 3-5 AFC South team is gonna do it to them on National TV, with a QB the Bengals coaching staff have faced twice before. You'd think they'd have kept him in Cleveland with his 2-0 record vs Cinci but they didnt because he threw 13 picks. His first pass in Houston was picked off and his one vs the Colts this year was hilarious. I don't think he is going to have the same success he had with Cleveland vs the Bengals.

Yeah it's bang on. At first I was like 'will the Bengals really cover 2 double digit spreads in a row?' But Houston's losses haven't been close. This Bengals team has been snakebitten so much for so many years I don't see any letdowns coming, esp with New England still being undefeated.
If NE was 10.5 pt favorites at home to Houston would you question it? NE is #1 in points per game, Cinci 3rd. New England is 4th in points allowed, Cinci is 2nd.
The only hope for Houston is if JJ Watt and the pass rush can get to Dalton and force turnovers. I don't think Hoyer is gonna light em up like he did in Cleveland. He has no run game and never played the Bengals in Cincinnati. I am basically wagering that he makes more mistakes tha Dalton tonight. I would like to see the Bengals run more effectively to keep the pressure off him, they have 2 good RBs but the run game hasnt taken off yet. The Texans will be focused on stopping Green and Eifert so I think they should run more to negate the pass rush.
I know Houston would love to think that getting that big win vs Titans and a week off gives them a chance to rejuvenate their season, but playing one of the best teams on the road on MNF is a tough way to start that rejuvenation. Last time I bet on Houston was vs the Bucs, they covered but they looked awful and TBs kicker missed a few. Texans have had trouble with the kick game this year too.

Houston gets Nate Washington and Cecil Shorts back. That at least gives Hoyer options other than Hopkins. Not saying they win or even cover but it does certainly help. Wound think O'Briens job has to be on the line also.
