Business Angle: Tampa Bay Vs Kansas City.

Mentioned in a post earlier this week the most futures bets in Vegas (p/ MGM) were on Tampa Bay and Kansas City.

...Angle was Vegas is rooting for GB & Buffalo.

This is purely entertainment & most important a money making business. 

Asked myself. Will GB vs Buffalo bring in more revenue more so than TB vs KC (healthy Mahomes)? 

SB will bring in tons of business regardless who plays, but I think TB vs KC matchup has better business ring in terms of a marketing platform.

Star studded team vs Reigning SB Champs just sounds and looks better for your customers.

Most are using the angle “revenge factor” w/ GB/TB,  “Rogers will destroy TB’s Defense”, “Cold Weather will be Huge Disadvantage for Brady”, “Mahomes out, ATS streak = Bills $”, 

Disregard the game stats, team quotes, and other game related angles. Instead, use the “what makes better sense in terms of business”?

For what it’s worth, I think Tampa vs GB will be a nail biter. A FG either way. If Mahomes plays, I see the Chiefs running all over the Bills. Good luck.

20% limited capacity at Raymond James Stadium as per Adam Schefter/espn.

Florida has lifted stadium restrictions, but article says NFL will stick with CDC...tickets sold in pods 6 feet apart, masks required...limited hospitality and pre-event parties...limited tickets to teams, etc (CBS Sports).

Not sure how that's gonna affect fans coming from out of town, but for sure it's not gonna be business as usual.

Don’t think physical attendance has much impact on the financials in relation to macro perspective.  Yes, hotels, city taxes, restaurants etc will be impacted, but that’s only a small piece of the pie.

Speaking in terms of viewer ratings & advertising. Most important part of the game is a) the game and b. Commercials. TV ratings should skyrocket this year considering most households will be at cooped @ home watching tv.

There’s been a 4 year decline in viewership. What better way to win customers over by having the current GOAT vs the upcoming GOAT? 

I don't think TV cares who wins this round.

TB/GB - Rodgers and Brady are both household names

KC/Buf - Buffalo would be a nice story - lose a 5th SB or finally win one? And TB/Buffalo would have an extra Brady angle

I think it's gonna be Bills/Packers. But wouldn't be shocked at anything. 

Books have been hesitant to put lines out on regular season games when there have been covid issues....books put the 2.5/3 out on KC right after Sunday's game....if Henne were to start you'd be looking at Bills -4 in that game. 

The books (corporate), who are always scared as hell to put themselves out there with any unnecessarily liability, would not put a "Mahomes line" out to begin with if they thought there was any serious risk of him not playing on Sunday.  

For the kids out there this means they would not put themselves at risk for a 6-7 point middle in an AFC championship game

That's what you said about the Ravens last week against the Bills, too.  And they held the best rushing team in the NFL to 29 carries & 118 yards (4 YPC), before the trash time Huntley runs. Andy Reid only runs the ball about 20% of the time.

lb,  as you said bucs and chiefs sb futures are the biggest liability.  Those are the only two outcomes that would be negative for the books.  So if you go by this angle both will not make it, only one could make it and would then lose in the sb.   everyone will watch and bet.  You could stick rutgers vs packers.  everyone would watch and bet.

Bills Packers would be like Broncos v Falcons. Just a waste of a bowl.
