A lot of posts here regarding the weakness of the defenses the Pats have played, but what about the offences the Ravens have faced?  The only top 10 offence Balt played all season were the Chargers in very important road game in week 15 and they were lit up for 34 pts.  The average ranking of the offences the Ravens faced during the regular season was 22.  To get an idea how weak that is, the #22 offence for the season was the Dolphins.  That's the kind of competition that led to the Ravens inflated #3 defensive rank.  The Ravens padded their stats against the likes of Jax(32), Stl(31), Ind(30), Clev(29) twice, and Sea(28).  Six of Baltimore's 16 games were against the WORST 5 offences in the entire league.  They also got to play #s 25, 20(twice), and 19.  And now they come in off a game in which they were out gained by a one dimensional team with a rookie Quarterback with 6 starts under his belt!
When this game is over the talk will be of how surprisingly slow and old the Ravens D looked.  They are over rated and over matched 34-20 Pats.

Ya thats all fine but the Patriots faced similar offenses like that too all year and ended up ranked 31st. Which is scary. Ravens will score points and the Ravens D is good enough to slow down New England at worst.

31rst in yards allowed. Yards allowed means nothing. Patriots were 11th in scoring defense. Bill Bilicheck spends 80% of his practices on situational football i.e. goalline and redzone defense and it clearly shows.

does it show that Bellichek hasn't won an AFC championship since he got caught for cheating? maybe you should consider that as well. just saying...............

Dude on the money.....they have played no one....Steelers twice, 49ers, and Houston.....you can add the 8-8 Chargers if you want to, but thats as far as I'm going.....weakest schedule in the league....Cleveland twice, Colts, Rams, Jags, Titans, Arizona, Seahawks, Cincy twice, I know Cincy made the playoffs, but they sucked the second half of the season. You are right, they have played no teams like Green Bay or Saints at all, no offenses on any of their competition except maybe Chargers or Houston.

texans WIN WIN 49ers WIN 

you play who is on your schedule , ravens had a way harder schedule then the Pats. doesn't get any simpler then that. 

throw everything out the widow, this is gonna be a good game and the bet is ravens +7

Miami had a bad start but was a good team, Bills were good until they lost Fred Jackson, Chargers were ok, Dallas was good, Eagles had fire power, and Steelers and Giants they lost to, not like the Ravens loses to Seahawks, Jags and Titans, those teams sucked....and like I said Bills, Chargers, Dallas, Eagles, Giants all had good offenses.

ravens beat the jets steelers twice bengals twice and 49ers they dont lose to good teams the patriots do

Good piece of info i can't believe i missed that. I can't believe they struggled all year with a 29th sos

Simply using regular season records of the opponent for each game the Ravens SOS was 122-134 which was tied with Washington for 23rd. The Patriots were 115-141 tied with the 49ers for 30th.

There are of course other ways to determine SOS therefore if one wants they could find one that makes a particular teams SOS stronger or weaker.

everyone of those teams are better than the Rams, Titans, Jags, Cards, Browns, Seahawks and Colts. All these teams I just named were horrific, terrible.....at least Bills, Dolphins, etc. could win at anytime, they were decent.
