I hope everyone is well. I don't post threads often anymore, I used to a couple years ago before things started getting out of hand. I am doing one today because of my happiness that so many people are talking about this game. I will say I am a Vikings fan and people rarely talk about this team. There are a ton of threads today because it is a Thursday night prime time game and all of the line movement is driving so many people crazy. I believe the only reason for the crazy movement is 2 things. #1 is obvious, the amount of money and bets coming in on the Cardinals is BIG. #2 they are trying to stop the teaser players from getting -2 or -3 on the Cards. However, neither of these reasons has anything to do with how the game will be played on the field.
I'm only going to say it once, this game will not be a blowout like many people think. The Vikings will get back to what they do best, run the ball down your throat to set up the pass. When that plan got away from them on Sunday, they saw the damage it causes. It was the first time in Adrian Peterson's CAREER that he got less than 10 touches in a game when healthy. Afterwards, he called out the game plan and coaches themselves saying they got out played and out coached. I initially thought that would be a negative until I heard Brian Robison's weekly radio interview on KFAN on Monday. He basically said it fired them up and made them realize they all are better than how they played on Sunday.
Tonight, the rant by Peterson will show in a positive way. He will get 20+ carries and at least 100 yards. I'm confident that will be enough to win the time of possession battle and help keep this game close. The Cardinals are talented enough on offense to score every time they touch the ball. The Vikings coaches know this. And with the injuries on defense they need to possess the ball as much as possible and keep the #1 offense in football off the field.
As for Teddy, he is a game manager, nothing more nothing less. He can't beat you with his arm. He can't really beat you with his legs either. All he is asked to do is complete passes and move the chains. Before the season started, Teddy said his goal this year was to complete 65% of his passes this season. Guess what? He is currently at 64.8%. That tells you everything right there about what kind of Quarterback he is. He didn't say he wanted to throw 5,000 yards or 50 touchdown passes. He is only concerned about his completion rate and moving the chains.
Yes, I am a Vikings fan but I'm not going to say something crazy like they win this game outright (although 4:1 odds do look very juicy.) However, I don't see it getting out of hand like what happened on Sunday. Vikings have covered their last 5 road games and I don't see that changing tonight. My prediction: 27-20 Cardinals win

I agree. I think this lines way overboard, funny how no ones talking about frosty rucker, Ellington, Chris Johnson, iupati and other injured cards. I had NP laying ten vs Indy, but Carson Palmers not big Ben, and Minny isn't Indy.

Palmer is playing better than Ben this season and their weapons are very similar. David Johnson can do just as good a job as Chris Johnson and showed that against the Rams. Vikings defense is too beat up to slow them down.

Nice write up. I agree that Vikings may be more focused in this game than the Cards. That's one thing that concerns me. I can see how this could be a close game, but I think it's more likely that the Cards will win big. Vikes simply have too many injuries to contain the Cards offense, so I like the Cards to win by DD tonight. I also have Cards TT Over 27'. But I also have AP Over 15' receiving yards, as I think the Vikes will try to get him more touches than in the last game.
BTW when I see Teddy B play, he reminds me of Kyle Orton for some reason. There's probably a more comparable QB, but that's who I think of.

One more thing, the qb's who have beat down the Vikings good are ones that excel at making plays outside the pocket. Kapernick, Wilson, and Rodgers (who historically has the Vikings number.) Palmer is not one of those qb's

see 33-20 cards....."Minn have 7 defensive players not practicing this week, including Joseph, LB Anthony Barr, S Harrison Smith, and now S Antone Exum. All four will be inactive this Thursday. They had zero safeties on their roster who could practice on Monday. They've since picked up a guy off the street and promoted a practice squad player."
