Teams are 13-7 SU when playing for the 3rd time in the
same year when already winning the first two games. However, it’s not as easy to beat
an experienced team 3 times in that same year.
Let’s not forget that this is
the 4th playoff appearance in the last 5 years for the Panthers
which include 6 total playoff games since 2013. This is the Saints first
appearance since 2013. While Brees and Sean Payton have extensive playoff
experience, this is new to a lot of their roster. In fact, Carolina’s players
have 189 combined games of postseason experience compared to New Orleans just
90.
The Saints are 2-0 this year and controlled both previous match-ups against
Carolina, but several things will be different this time. The Saints have since
placed starting middle linebacker, and starting safety on IR. The first game
where Carolina lost by 20 early in the season - Cam was coming off shoulder
surgery, and playing without Greg Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin who left the game
early in the 1Q. Cam threw 3 picks in that game. The second game a few weeks
ago was closer, but Carolina lost a turnover on Special Teams, and came up half
a yard short on a crucial 4th down conversion. At the same time, the Saints
converted a crucial 4th down conversion for a TD. 3 plays alone that could have changed the entire game. Greg Olsen also
did not play in that game. Additionally, the Saints were the more motivated
team that game coming off a loss to the Rams, while the Panthers were off a
victory having just scored 35 points and playing in their 2nd straight
road game.
Carolina’s beatdown to the Falcons last week is fresh in people’s
minds, but they were playing that game without starting RB Jonathan Stewart, as
well as their starting right guard. Hard to win road games when your QB is the
leading rusher in the game. Both players are expected back this Sunday.
I don’t like the match-up here for New Orleans, as Carolina should
put up a much tougher fight. Ron Rivera will make the necessary adjustments.
Panthers +7 ($4,000)
Panthers +260 ($500)

You could be spot on, but I think this is a Horrible match up at New Orleans ...In My Opinion Odds makers are begging for people to take the Panthers with a TD and a Large ML ...
can't wait to watch this one !!!!

Surprised you arent on falcons who are undoubtedly in a better position than Seattle in terms of team health and defense playing better. In addition, you stated when you bet them versus the Buccs that they were still a dangerous team like last year. Is there a reason why no bet on ATL?

Sounds like you are making excuses for every lose?
Here is what is going to happen. NO will take a lead into the 2nd half. Things won't go Cam's way and he gets all upset and loses the game big. He is not a good loser.

Saints are 6-0 and 8-2 ATS against the panthers last 6 and 10. Carolinas effort last Sunday in Atlanta when so much was on the line was disappointing. Cam was bad and it seems you just don’t know if he is going to show up or not. NO also laid an egg at Tampa last week but they are at home I’ll lay the number

Cam Newton v Brees and co in a dome which will be absolutely rocking come kick off?
Can't do it.
Saints - 6.5 in a game I think could get very ugly for Carolina, their offense just isn't dynamic enough to keep up with the Saints and I see the Saints shortening the game and closing out Carolina by the 4th quarter.
I also like the under here with two run heavy teams both of whom like to eat as much clock as possible when driving.

Very correct on so many points. I was where you are initially.
Ever been to the Dome during a playoff game? 2nd loudest stadium in the NFL next to Seattle. Fan base is rabid this year. Cam isn’t that smart with all that noise going on.
Craig Robertson has filled in at LB very nicely. Missing Kenny Vaquero really hasn’t hurt them. Losing Okefor and Kikaha at the D end has. The D IS MUCH more disciplined this year. They won’t let Cam run around. The only threat to worry about is Olsen and the Panther running game. Those WRs won’t do garbage against a very good saints secondary.
Meanwhile the Saints O line should be back to full strength. As great as the running game has been, Brees really hasn’t had the huge game we are used to. Will this be the one?
Saints are honoring the Super Bowl team at this game and all the guys are coming back for the game. Motivation will be off the charts.
I’ll take Sean Peyton over Ron Rivera all day long. I’m all in on Saints -6
And yes I’ll bet against those boys when I think the numbers wrong. I think the saints run them out of the Dome in the second half.

LC........lost small on KC...but big on Atlanta....wanna pull the trigger on the Panthers....but don't really know how Cam is going to play.....will the Saints D try to stuff the run and see if Cam can make plays with his arm?....which he hasn't shown consistently lately.....thoughts appreciated.......
