The ebb and flow of the NFL season is something that i pay alot of attention to.
I came in strong with Chicago last week as one of my two big plays on Sunday as the situation was right to back them against the Raiders.
Just as the situation dictated a play on the Bears last week, It is now the right time to jump back off of the bandwagon.
Beating the Raiders at home under ideal conditions is one thing but to go on the road in a hostile environment against a quality opponent who is also desperate is quite another altogether.
Kansas City comes into the game at 1-3 having lost the last 3 weeks against three of the premier teams in the league.
Losing 24-31 to Denver late on a Charles fumble returned for a td.
Losing 28-38 to Green Bay on the road (Monday Night)
Losing 21-36 to Cincinnati on the road.
Kansas City has improved this year offensively as evidence by scoring over 20 points in each of the past 3 games against quality defenses
Alex Smith now has weapons at 3 different positions on offense in Charles, Kelce and Maclin and the Bears offer little in the way of resistance on defense with a below average pass rush and a secondary that has only 2 interceptions this year.
Expect Justin Houston and Tamba Hali to pressure Cutler into numerous sacks, fumbles and interceptions. Cutler under pressure is a quarterback who worries more about getting hurt than a quarterback who will look down the barrel of the gun and hang in the pocket until the plays develop downfield.
I'm not a big fan of laying big chalk but in certain situations i will lay it with confidence.
Prior to last weeks win over Oakland, Chicago played 3 quality teams themselves. Losing to Green Bay, Arizona and Seattle by an average of almost 20 points a game.
With no look ahead for Kansas City, i expect the Chiefs to come out loose and aggressive.
I will take the team with the better offense, defense, special teams and coaching staff who is at home with their backs to the wall against the team who finally got the monkey off of their back last week and might be more interested in trading away players such as Jared Allen for the future rather than competing now.
Chicago was in the perfect spot last week and barely won.
This week, they revert back to normal...........losing!

. CHI checked out for the season in the AZ game and avoided a winless season last week against the easiest team they will face all season.
