The reason they lost is both of these teams play on Thursday Night. Teams playing on Sunday that have to play in 4 days don't play as hard to save themselves.
Teams are 6-2 SU before playing on Thursday Nights this year... Tampa Bay and Atlanta played this past Thursday(in a division matchup), and both won in Week 4.

Seattle and 49ers were the two top picks in Circa Survivor. The reason they lost is both of these teams play on Thursday Night. Teams playing on Sunday that have to play in 4 days don't play as hard to save themselves. Especially in this case its a big division game. Its not good handicapping anyone that took them deserved to lose.
Ya know good handicapping eh? Maybe post before the games then.....

I managed my HS bball in HS( Flint Hill Prep- Dennis Scott, George Lynch among others) and my college team at the U along with working for the Heat and Bullets for 5 seasons.
You'd like to think you'll get 'max' effort every game but I assure you, it doesn't happen.
If a culture gets established by the staff and team, then poor efforts get mitigated.
In football with 17 games, every game is important but division and conference games are more important...imho

I posted this angle for years in this forum so it wasn't just because of this result today
Those that know me personally know this has been my thing for years to always look at who's playing on Thursday night
For live or 2nd half bettors the other thing I do if a team that will be playing on Thursday night gets a DD lead I'm on the other side cause they'll coast the rest of the game.
I jumped on Arizona + 12.5 that was my big play I don't play the money lines I just bet bigger taking points.

Seattle played their hearts out Monday night vs Detroit. Short week, SF up next and they have to get up to play the Little Sisters of the Poor. Horrible spot for them. Did I think the Giants could beat them spotting them a 14pt swing early in the game? No, but I'm not surprised they didn't play inspired.... SF loses a kicker and has no backup? Billion $ businesses and they have no one on the roster that's kicked at some level they can make a backup? It's usually the punter and I know he kicked one but to leave yourself naked is intolerable.

I disagree completely. Giants had extra rest playing this game from Thursday before while Seattle had less rest playing Monday night football before. Seattle hella banged up and SOS dead last. This was just a bad survivor pick if you handicapped it.
49ers aren’t going to play less hard for a divisional game that is an important win.
Play the game. Don’t let the game play you.

@Silverstones So using your DD logic on 2nd half you lost last night. I use the eyeball test and jumped on KC only giving -2.......
You didn't understand this game didn't apply its not any game. KC was not having to play in 4 days.
Its a team that was a TD favorite or more who has a DD lead at half time and is playing the Thursday night game in 4 day, they tend to coast the 2nd half to save themselves for Thursday.
The next Thursday night game is Denver @ New Orleans
Denver at home playing La Chargers . Denver a 3 Point dog in a divisional this game I wouldn't fade Denver just cause their playing on Thursday night. and none of these teams will have a DD lead. forget this game it don't apply
This would be the only game to look at with the Thursday angle this week Saints hosting Tampa .
Spencer Rattler rookie QB starting for New Orleans
If Tampa gets lead and things aren't going good for Saints and looks like a very probable loss in this scenario you'll want to bet Tampa 2nd half and live cause Saints most likely pack it in to save themselves for Thursday.
