Most people don't understand that you can bet before game day my friend, I do and did myself on the Eagles, had them at -3. The whole "square" thing baffles me, a bettor should only be concerned about getting their money down on the team they like at the best number possible ! Who cares what everybody else is doing ?

So if westbrook got tackled at the Minn 30 yrd line and philly kicks a FG to go up 19-14 and Tarvaris continues to look shitty like he had ALL GAME then we would continue to be squares?? you are a joke. I love how anyone who "doesnt take the points" is a square. "The value is in the dog". Give me a freaking break. The value is in any team with a QB not named Tarvaris Jackson.

I took advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity and bet against Tarvaris in a playoff game and you chose to take him.

don't worry about it.  just dumb ass gambling mythology.  like "public" is on bullshit.  who the fuck is this group of bettors that constitute the public?  especially considering that sports betting is not sanctioned anywhere in this country other than vegas and atlantic city. and all local or illegal books are not reporting their side action.

squares, wise, sharps, public.  terms that are throwbacks to the 50's when there was mob controlled sports betting parlors in large cities.  anyone talking like this in terms of capping a game is an idiot.  meaning they will push off a decent betting proposition because it is perceived as a popular side or "public" side.  totally stupid.  eagles was considered by some to be the "public" bet.  but guess what?  eagles.  money is money

The right pick is the one that covers. That is all that matters. In my view, Minnesota was a stupid bet because:

     A. Tavaris has little experience compared to Donovan

     B. Peterson usually fumbles

     C. Philly D and special teams.

You can call them 'squares" or whatever. I call them winners.

The right pick is the one that covers. That is all that matters. In my view, Minnesota was a stupid bet because:

     A. Tavaris has little experience compared to Donovan

     B. Peterson usually fumbles

     C. Philly D and special teams.

You can call them 'squares" or whatever. I call them winners.

Eagles had the worst record of anyone in the playoffs, and they're on the road.  Laying points.  And you're telling me that's a square play??

Keep quiet about stuff when you don't know what you're talking about.  The real squares took a beating in the NFL this weekend.

What a tool. So you are a sharp because you take points every game? Every capper that takes points thinks they are so cool. Winning is the name of the game. Vikings suck. If you couldn't see that you should probably quit gambling.

P.S    I am a Vikings fan and put my  on the Eagles. Childress is the worst coach in football.

I took advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity and bet against Tarvaris in a playoff game and you chose to take him.

Played the square today and yesterday. 0-2 Sat., 2-0 Sun. That's the way I saw them. Local had both Sat. -1-1. Although S.D. outplayed Indy, it took a coin flip and three penalties to beat me. As for Atlanta, Arizona played its best game of the year and Atlanta probably played its worst. Even at that it took the bizarre fumble return play to cook me in that game. My crystal ball was murky yesterday but perhaps I should have known the difficulty Indy would have beating S.D. twice in one season. And then there was Sproles. As for Arizona they played some terrible football the last five weeks and were simply a winner of the worst division in football whose 9 wins were against STL(2), SF(2), SEA(2), BUF, MIA and DAL. But admittedly they played better at home.  And si it goes.BOL

This has become my favorite thread at Covers ever. Nice to see so many level headed people. Usually people post this crap and no one contradicts them (except me!).

I guess doing this after people just won a lot of money is why the Covers community just debacled the OP, eh?

I look to fade the public when I see value in a spread thats simply set too high... but (obviously) these lines (birds and birds) were not.

Admittedly, I was nervous backing road dogs; but they were/are the better Teams.

So Im more than a square.... Im a fkn Pentagon... and a little mo money in my pocket today than yesterday.
