I often wonder if the % of money on one team or the other is all BS.  Why would a book give out that information?  I just look at the teams and how well they can play football.

Who knows if the Titans can come back or not.

But we do know that the SUPER SHARP PLAY, the Titans and the under is complete burnt toast.

You want to know why they report these things fellas??!!

BECAUSE THEY WANT CASH ON THE OTHER SIDE.

    That's why.

They're not there to help you out.

    I wasn't born yesterday.

Another ridiculous post. Question smarty pants: Which is bigger? Covers or public? It’s a rhetorical question chief in that covers is a drop in the bucket with the bucket being the public. 2/3 of the public are on the Texans and almost 85% are in the Texans to win. So because you see 8 or 9 people on cover on the Titans that means the Texans win? I ask myself why one like yourself posts something like what you did and then I realize the answer is quite obvious. Thank you though for your contributions today.
Well, it appears as of half time that his statement was pretty spot on!

I got Titans at +6.5 last week, and it doesn't seem to matter for the result. Glad I also took the over...

Yea I just ignore all the bullshit sharp vs square and who the public is on crap. It doesn't work.

What does work is focusing on how good each team is on each side of the ball and how they matchup against each other.

patrtick everson from covers apparently talked to the mgmracebook manager and they said a 6 figure money line play was placed on houston... 2 ways to look at this..

    A. Book needs to balance their action and took it because getting tons of titans ML money...

B.. Book takes this bet because they're maximizing profits in long run knowing titans win straight up ( the so called "decision")
also books lowering spread to lure more money on houston to MAXIMIZE profits again

you really don't know and can only guess... unless you're a bookie with a large sample size, you have NO CLUE where the money is.. those bogus websites that tell you the money is one sided is just that... BOGUS.. I've heard all day on VSIN that most books are saying its a 4 way loser with parlays, teasers, straight bets, YADA YADA YADA...

patrtick everson from covers apparently talked to the mgmracebook manager and they said a 6 figure money line play was placed on houston... 2 ways to look at this.. A. Book needs to balance their action and took it because getting tons of titans ML money...B.. Book takes this bet because they're maximizing profits in long run knowing titans win straight up ( the so called "decision")also books lowering spread to lure more money on houston to MAXIMIZE profits againyou really don't know and can only guess... unless you're a bookie with a large sample size, you have NO CLUE where the money is.. those bogus websites that tell you the money is one sided is just that... BOGUS.. I've heard all day on VSIN that most books are saying its a 4 way loser with parlays, teasers, straight bets, YADA YADA YADA... CAP THE GAME

    Good points.

    It's a MATH game.

They get 10%.  So they want ACTION.  If it's 10% of a milliion, that's 100k.  If it's 10% of 500k, that's only 50k.  Why not try to get more of the lesser % (almost always the dogs) to increase the ACTION.  As you said it's a long run game.

I don't doubt they did that.

What they didn't tell you is the much smaller limit bet they took from a sharp.

Doesn't sound like they're limiting this whale.  With whales it's about action-eventually the account goes to 0, and they can bet on whoever they want (even if it's a sharp play).

I've been at the window if you bet a couple grand at the MGM I am sure the approval process starts, and if the book thinks you're a sharp or don't know you they'll ask for your id and/or limit your bet.  They will dress you down.  I wonder why they don't do that for the 200k whale...lol

Many of the games are random.

Meaning if you start out with $100, play $10 a flip and flip a coin enough times, and you take 10% out of each flip, eventually you'll get to 0.  problem is, you have to pay the bills to get the coin flipper to flip the coin, the accountants, the line makers, and all that.  So...again, you need action.

Books will do anything to gain an edge on you and eventually frustrate you to the point where you make mistakes.

    Another ridiculous post.

Was it really? I had no lean either way going into yesterday morning until I logged onto covers. 3 times this year I put small $$ ($75.00) on the SNF and MNF Team opposite the consensus Team here on covers.com, just to see what would happen = all 3 times those wagers hit. 90% of this forum was on the Titans yesterday. Just like the Jags ealier in the season, Tennessee played busted their nut against New England and are fade material down the stretch.
