This is the earliest Super Bowl wager I have placed maybe since my Ravens made it to the Super Bowl 11 years ago. Can't say I'm as excited about this Niners/Chiefs matchup as the first time but I guess it makes more sense in the context of Vegas that we get the glitzier, star studded teams with a combined 8 Super Bowl trophies. I am not surprised the Chiefs are back in it again. If there was a team that is capable of repeating as back to back champs then it's the Kansas City Chiefs. They missed that opportunity the first time around but Tom Brady stood in the way. Brock Purdy is no Tom Brady but they're hyping him up to be the next version. However, Brady's successor is already here in the form of Patrick Mahomes and is already going for ring #3 in just his 6th full season in the league. Not bad almost half way there. Teams that have played in the Super Bowl rematch , the team that lost previously is 2-5 in the rematch. Some of the players may be different but the system remains the same. I have to roll with the best football player and coach on the football planet opening with doggy points. Who knows maybe Chiefs will end up being small favorites again like last time so that's why I'm jumping in early. I am currently 10-4 ats on Super Bowl sides and on a 2 game streak. Riding with Mahomes in the Super Bowl again for the 4th time...

So much public money on KC. I don't understand how KC is getting +1 here after SF shitting the bed two weeks in a row and getting behind 2 scores or more

I haven't bought a Futures ticket in awhile lol everything all thru an app. I guess mentally I ripped my virtual future ticket in half but not as satisfying as ripping the real thing </3
@FRESH1014
If Ravens had stuck to their strengths and not fool around I guarantee it might have been a different outcome. I don't regret taking Balty at all I would have taken them 9 times out of 10 how I capped it.
not like I didn't think the Chiefs couldn't repeat I've said that after Super Bowl 57 was over but didn't see enough value to take them. I missed out on +1000 when they struggled. Didn't think they would make it like they did in 2019 when they also struggled a bit I took the +1000 odds back then.

Public doesn't really bet until closer to game time or at least that was the general wisdom for a long time Altho kind of hard to say now with legal sports betting and betting apps making it more convenient for everybody
@bigred84
never considered Ravens coaching staff to shit the bed after what happened in playoffs last 5 years you would think they had some kind of reasonable plan going in. Unbelievable

Where to start? Chiefs defense seems to be getting the talk moreso than the offense these days especially after taking down the Ravens on Sunday but it's warranted. Many might forget that the Chiefs defense in 2019 was also instrumental in that comeback victory against the 49ers in the Super Bowl. That was Spag's first season as Chiefs defensive coordinator. It was an underrated unit that played bend but don't break defense. Since then they have gone younger and faster at all skill positions. While the Chiefs defense had been a bit up and down over the previous 3 seasons, this is perhaps their best defensive effort since 2019 and it may be even better.. Chiefs have a much better pass rush duo with Chris Jones and George Karlaftis with a combined 21 sacks. The team as a whole produced 57 sacks the most under Spag's in KC. Their linebacker and corner positions which were once a weakness have solid playmakers and tacklers now in Nick Bolton and Willie Gay at LB then Trent McDuffie and L'Jarius Sneed are sticky in coverage at CB. Justin Reid and Mike Edwards may not be as good as Tyrann Matheiu at safety but if nothing else they have been solid contributors this season. All in all, it's a solid defensive unit. Although I can't really say with full conviction if the Chiefs defense is all that its cracked up to be. Have they been tested enough against good offenses? To some degree I would say yes but I can say this much: this Chiefs defense may be a tougher and stingier matchup for the 49ers offense than in Super Bowl 54 and it will also be the Chiefs defense toughest test to date this season as well.
It will be an interesting matchup against a good 49ers offense that could do what the Ravens should have done but refused to do which is run the ball while opening up the intermediate passing game and exploiting the YAC. Can Brock Purdy handle pressure in the pocket which no doubt Spag's and the Chiefs D-line will be bringing? Aside from Trent Williams is the offensive line good enough to protect Purdy? Can Purdy pass efficiently against a good man cover defense? The keys to the offense will no doubt lay in the hands of Christian McCaffrey leading the way on offense with Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle feeding off it. That is the one concern I have with the Chiefs defense which is their run defense but believe it or not it's better than the run defense from 2019 but just slightly worse from 2022. Run defense hasn't really been a strong suit for Spag's since he took over the KC defense. It's a little give or take here and there. On the surface this looks like a good matchup for the 49ers. Chiefs redzone defense is average this season and if Niners can get into the red area then they may be able to put up points as they have been the best redzone team this year. Then again Chiefs defense has been decent in not allowing many trips to the redzone. However , I've seen their fare share of struggles against good running and redzone scoring teams this season and the Niners happen to be one of those teams.

Interesting that you brought that up because no player has ever won 3 Superbowl MVPs in a row for 3 Superbowl rings..Mahomes could be the first to do that if he wins Superbowl MVP and the Chiefs win the game..
After Branch won MVP when the Pat's won the Superbowl it was Brady SB MVP Brady SB MVP and Bradys 6th ring the Superbowl MVP was Edelman .. Montana had a chance for 3 straight SB MVPS but Rice got that SB MVP to end his streak I like the Chiefs as well DK.
Good Luck

Yea I don't know how Branch won MVP over Brady he didn't score any TDs but he did make some nice catches tho . Thanks for the reminder about Jerry Rice and Edelman they deserved it for sure. Seems like what Kelce needs to do is catch about 120+ yards and cap it off with a TD or two to be considered. We shall see if Mahomes can go for 3 straight
