Does anyone remember the record on fading a playoff team who scores 45+ the round before???

"While high-scoring games are the norm in the NFL these days, teams arriving to the Championship Round off a high-scoring effort in their last game tend to come back to earth harder than a skydiver with a faulty chute.

Consider: nearly half of the 17 teams in this round who put 38 or more points on the scoreboard in a Divisional Round victory fell short of the Super Bowl, going 9-8 straight-up. 

Worse, these teams are just 9-8 SU and 4-13 ATS, including 1-12 ATS when facing a foe that tallied less than 34 points in its previous game.

With Baltimore and New England canceling one another out, that puts San Francisco on warning this Sunday"

Trend or not ..... Atlanta got lucky with that win .... niners got a win in lambuea against Rodgers and ...Bree's in superdome.... beat Brady and belicheck in foxborough. Now they face Matty and smith.. And this Swiss cheese falcons defense .. Who couldn't stop a rookie qb. kapernick is like Wilson ..... So if u decide to follow the trend and fade the niners GL to u .....

Makes sense about S.F., they have not won more than 2 straight

in regular season, S.F. off 2 wins are 0-4-1 SU & 0-5 ATS. Anyone have the records of a SB loser going back to the S.B. the next yr ?. Or how many teams went back to the SB in BB years?

You can throw these trends out the door.Teams that score over 40 you are not to take them the next week.But that is B.S.

I would agree with a lot of trends.  But this one has fundamentals behind it, which are the reason for this record.  I agree that it is likely over achieving so far, but there are suckers born every day.  The oddsmakers have obviously taken advantage of this. I will also bet that of the vast majority of these games, the most $$$ has been on the loser.

So if the 49ers hadn't scored that last touchdown in the 4th quarter vs. GB they would be more likely to win and/or cover today vs. Atlanta?
