He gone
In his first couple of years this guy looked like the second coming. What changed? Frank Reich left.
I bet an offensive guru like Shanahan or Reich himself can turn this kid’s career around in a big way. Pederson is a terrible offensive coach, and not the mastermind everyone thought he was.

Really only his 3rd year was the great year....1st 3 years the offense was all RPO stuff and he was running the ball a lot. Not he does not run the ball probably because of fear of getting hurt again and wants to be pocket passer or the offense is designed that way. Not sure if the defenses have caught on to his RPO stuff his 1st 3 years.. Either way..he has bad mechanics and accuracy has dropped off big time.....

Never ever extend rookie QB's after your 3rd season...you have the 5th year option and 2 franchise tags...after.....Okay..maybe for maholmes only..but he has proven it from day 1..

@davemsh
he was never good.. Mcvey made him better but he is still a bottom half QB
He had so much growing pains his first year.. Got better after Gurley had big seasons..

He still shows flashes of brilliance but the team is a mess. Give him protection and a decent running game and you’ll be surprised.

It was magic in a bottle. Simply amazing.

Guy is in his 5th year and make $30+ million...If not for the extension...he would be released after this season.>See Winston and Marriota those teams gave them the 5th year but did not extend them.....Eagles were fooled into extending him..now they stuck with him for next 2 year with big cap hits...
Wentz this season rank last in pretty much every QB category..His QBR is dead last...Not 1 single game this season with a QBR higher than the opposing QB....

Here's the scoop on Carson Wentz, it's a combination of a couple different factors.
The Frank Reich Factor. Creative offensive coach, who is missed.
The Nick Foles Factor. Living in the shadows of Big D*ck Nick is enormous pressure.
Injured and Aging offensive line Factor. Peters is a turnstile, while Lane Johnson and Brandon Brooks have been out. Zero continuity.
No go-to Receiver Factor. This group get ZERO SEPERATION!! Look at teams around the league, almost every team has a stud wideout.
GM Howie Roseman Factor. Has NO ability to draft players. For a Receiverless team like the Eagles, he passes on Metcalf, Justin Jefferson, Terry McLaruin as examples. Just extends Wentz's contract and then drafts Jalen Hurts ignoring the scouts advice to draft Safety Jeremy Chinn instead.
The Jalen Hurts Factor. The Eagles send a clear message to Carson by drafting Hurts, saying "Perform or Else". More Pressure.
The Doug Pederson Factor. The guy is doing Wentz no favors. The Eagles have a quality running game, yet Pederson calls a 70% to 30% pass/run split. Running the ball with play action passes, mixing in some roll out throws puts Carson in the best position to be successful, yet week after week the play calling remands the same.
I suggest that Carson Wentz is broken. I believe that Carson has talent but is in his own head at this point.
The Eagles traded up to #2 to get him and then proceed to surround him with no talent. Shame on them.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in either Indianapolis or New England if he gets moved.

A lot of young QB's have the talent...otherwise they would not be drafted so high....NFL is 50% talent but other 50% mental..Brady has very marginal arm talent..might be the slowest QB scrambling wise in the league last 20 years.....His IQ is off the charts.. the subtle 1-2 step moves in the pocket that buys him another 1-2 seconds.... the accuracy..the quick processing...

The kid has talent, go look at his stats from 2017 when he was being talked about as having League MVP consideration before he got hurt.
Word also has Wentz as aloof and unwilling to listen to direction. Mechanics have suffered because lack of detailed coaching

Look at what Nick Foles did when he took over in 2017 with the same players..
Look at what Nick Foles did when he took over in 2017 with the same players..
The Eagles had to change their offensive play calling to accommodate Foles. By moving to a heavy RPO package, they put defenses on the heels with a power running attack and a short controlled passing attack.
Nick Foles was magical during that playoff run and deserves a lot of credit for it
They caught lightning in a bottle that year, pure and simple.
