feels like the night B4 XMA$$$

Why would the books feel the need to juice up the lines on a team that buried millions of pointspread bettors in 8 of their last 9 games of the 2007 season?  Especially when most of those games were among the most high profile games of the year?  And especially when that team left the world with the impossible-to-ever-forget memory of the ultimate pointspread failure in the Super Bowl?  If anything, it's clear to see that their are few people left that are willing to bet on the Patriots minus a bunch of points.  Take a look around at all of the people picking KC +16 and you'll see that a lot of those folks have done a complete 180 on the once greatly-feared Patriots.

If you ask me (which you didn't, but I'll deposit my 2 cents anyway), perhaps 5 Dimes understands that a victory today will mean so much more to one of these teams than it will to the other.  Sounds weird, but I believe it.

And one of these teams only got to taste victory one time last year, then spent the next eight months feeling the shame.

I'm with you there, but it took me nearly all week to start thinking the same way.  I'm kinda slow sometimes.
