I only bet $100 per bet because it's sharp gambling this way.
My personal rules on sports gambling: First rule is the most important one for all gamblers.
1. Money management. Bet less than 5% of your total current bankroll per. Be discipline.
2. Be a strategic gambler by picking your spots and wait for the right opportunity. Never be a compulsive gambler by betting because it's your favorite team or for the action.
3. Stay emotionless all the time. Bet like a robot. There's no place for emotions in this profession. Be unbiased.
4. Do your research by watching game footage, use trends and statistics on division rivals only.
5. Never bet on heavily juiced/vig lines. Like a line at -1000 for example.
6. Never bet on heavily valued lines. Like a terrible team at 100 to 1 odds to win championship.
7. Parlays should be no longer than 2 teams, the bigger the parlay is, the bigger the House Edge. Research and Secure your first pick before moving on to your second pick.

8. Teasers should never pass through the zero.

200K$.
The big problem with gambling is when you quit. Then you start to look at how much money was really at stake.....the swings, ups and downs....the psycological stress is enormous because the will to chase and get back your losses is so great. And if you don't have any money to bet, then you don't have any money to chase.......and that leads to a deep depression, and the downward spiral.
Revel in your mistakes for awhile. Learn from them, examine them, and then FORGIVE yourself and LET IT GO.
If that 200k befell you in an unusual circumstance, then you may never have that kind of money again, so quit gambling. But if you are a wealthy person with investments and a good job, then quit gambling right now, and move on.

I'm 59 and retired for the last 7 years. I love to watch football and I play in a few pools to satisfy my urge to gamble on them. It keeps me interested and I have fun watching. I love to play poker but I always play within my means and keep track of all wins AND loses. That way I know if it's in my best interest to keep gambling and so far since I've been keeping track which was when I retired , I'm up just over 25 grand. Not an exorbitant amount but a nice subsidy for my pension....and I owe it all to my mother. I live my life by something she told me many years ago. .... ALL THINGS IN MODERATION.. Try it....it works and you'll be happier.
Cheers!
