Its harsh, but I tend to agree. People on here LOVE to overthink these lines. Talking about looking ahead, looking behind, teams being "due" a win and in the end they ignore who is just flat out the better team. People on here bet on the line vegas gives them, not the game itself. They will say things like "Oh, if the Panthers were -6, I'd take the panthers but +1 is fishy and vegas wants us to take them so I'm going cowboys. This was always clearly a game that The Panthers should have been favored in. This is just like when The Titans played the Panthers a few weeks ago and everyone and their mother on Covers was on the Titans for some reason. Don't blindly buy all these dumb Covers stats all the time. Look for the matchups, look for the best team, and roll. Upsets will ALWAYS happen in a season, no one wins 100% of bets...

Just stop over thinking this stuff.

Andrew, with all due respect I'll say whatever I want, whenever I want. If you don't like the harsh hammer of reality, then I'd advise you to stay out of my threads or ignore me altogether. And do not confuse me with some of the other "after the fact" posters/cappers here either. You do not know me because I have taken a 5 year hiatus from this site... my last post was a rant regarding Eldrick Woods shortly after he was flogged with a 9 iron by his former wife if you are interested in where my sentiments and opinions actually lie, I'm sure my "blog" still exists here somewhere in the covers cloud. I used to post here under the handle "rollmaestro".

the point behind this thread is not so much to disparage those who capped DAL as a live home dog and simply lost as it is to call out those here who invariably try and identify the latest Vegas "trap"... the fact of the matter is, that NOBODY here is "smarter" than the algos that Vegas' supercomputers use to compute odds on a daily basis, and to believe otherwise is folly.

I realize who the 'enemy' is, it is the bookmakers both large and small --- unfortunately the real enemy, among avid bettors, is often HIMSELF. I have outsmarted myself before, obviously, and it's a shame that it happens as often as it does by normally sensible people. I'm all for angles too, but I tired of the conspiracy theories LONG ago.

This thread isn't directed at 'people that bet Dallas'. It's directed at the people who spent all week telling Carolina backers they were morons for taking 'trap lines'.

I have a theory about the consensus picks kicking butt tonight.

The NFL had a TON of awful controversy with that Monday night Bills/Pats game. The reffing got ripped to shreds and it was obvious to any gambler that the fix at the end there was so New England didn't cover. Sports media everywhere was tearing NFL a new one.

The NFL knew everyone would be playing close attention to the games today, even the announcers mentioned it at the beginning of the Eagles game how "lets hope theres no major errors from the refs like that again during the games today.

NFL had to flip the script on us, things will likely resume to normal on Sunday
