Yeah newmarket, best part was when the camera was on Ben, he seemed pissed that his team was scoring a TD then when he realized the camera was on him he was all smiles.
It's interesting to see how some people keep using the same "examples" for their theory. If "fixes" are as widely spread as they describe, shouldn't there be more cases being revealed through the years, particularly in the NFL? Sure, there are proven cases of point-shaving but they aren't NEARLY as common as some people suggest. It simply defies logic that a few would surface but not more would.
Take SD State last night, that's probably as iffy as it gets, but if I were the coach that was "in", I would be damn sure not to put myself in that position that the whole world could see. Isn't the key to any conspiracy is to remain as un-noticeable as possible?
There might be some validity to their point, but for one reasonable person with the theory out there, there are at least thousands of them crying "fix" on every single call, like a 7-foot center making a last second shot in mid-court to cover the spread.
This is the most common conservation:
A(Fixer): This game is fixed, there is no way this isn't and I KNEW it for a long time. This is garbage...
B: So why didn't you bet on the "right" side then?
A: I don't know which way Vegas is going beforehand and now I do.
B: Thought you knew they were fixing the games and you could "think outside the box". Well, it's rather pointless at this point.....

A couple things come to mind with this discussion...
Those of you who don't or can't believe that there might be something happening behind the scenes that may affect the outcome of the contest are like the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz, when exposed by Toto, demanding "Pay no attention to the Man Behind the Curtain!"
Those of us who know that there can be something happening behind the scenes are like the Rodney Dangerfield character Al Czervik in Caddyshack slipping a few bills to Lou while saying "Keep it fair, keep it fair."
Merry Christmas fellow degenerates.
