I always loved Al for that - he's the only one who ever makes reference to lines DURING the action - my favorite (he usually gets to do it once a year) is when a meaningless score gets the total over and how he says someone somewhere must be OVERjoyed by that touchdown.   I always thought Madden had no idea what he meant.  Interesting how Collinworth chuckled at Al's comment thi evening......

I was thinking the same thing.

Between that, and the conspiracy theories that the game should have been over when the clock went to 0:00 and the safety shouId not have counted I cant take it anymore. Laughing to damn hard tonight.

regarding the OVER , if chris mortenson's son
doesnt throw that int for the td, the saftey would have
gotten the OVER and that would have been more
suspicious

Why would you take the safety there?
I know in a regular game you take the safety and you win the game but it is the preseason , wouldnt it benefit your team to punt and get some special teams work or are you basically saying...no ones hurt lets get the hell out of here?

I had no $ on the game

What I don't get is why does the punter run back 20 yards into the endzone for the safety instead of the 2 yard-line and go out of bounds?

No safety....end of game, same result?

Never got that...

if he takes a knee at the 2 yard line you can end the game right there.  It doesn't make any sense.
